Ride loading seems super inefficient

Hi all, I want to see if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong, or misinterpreting a mechanic. I am somewhat able to work around/live with this, but I'd like to know why it's happening.

I have an American Arrow coaster with 8 cars per train, 3 trains running.
Ride rules are set to no minimum/maximum time and wait for full load until departure.
Priority pass queue is enabled if that makes a difference (though still occurs when disabled, but I haven't tried physically removing the queue).

What happens is this.
  • Full train leaves station
  • Guests from queue enter station cattle pens - but only enough guests for the first four cars.
  • Full train pulls into station from the block section.
  • Guests disembark.
  • Once guests have exited station, cattle pen doors open. Guests get on ride.
  • As mentioned, only the first four cars are full. The remaining 4 cars at the rear of the train stay empty.
  • The entrance to the ride is opened again and enough guests are let through to fill the remaining 8 cars.
  • Full train leaves station

The main annoyance of this is that it causes a train to park in block section, when it shouldn't be necessary. The queue is full (and then some), so when the queue entrance is first opened, then surely the cattle pens should fill up - there's more than enough time to before the train arrives at the station. Then the cattle pens could open, everyone could get on and the train could depart without holding another train in the blocks.

This behaviour occurs when the load requirements is set to "full load" and no minimum waiting time, and also when the train is set to "any load" and a minimum wait time of 60s is specified.
Is there a workaround or technique I'm not using properly?

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to make a difference, in fact it now occasionally only fills the first 3 cars instead of the first 4.
 
That's interesting in that case as it sounds like the loading code isn't behaving as it should. Have you still got it set to Full Load (and a sufficient max wait for it to do so)?

Once a train stops in the station for unloading, the entrance gate closes and loading of the pens is halted. It cannot do both at the same time unfortunately.
