Rift Audio Issues

Hi,

I've not played ED for about 7 weeks and on starting now lose Rift audio about 5 secs into the loading screen. I normally launch from the desktop launcher and have had no issues with sound previously. I installed ED in Home to see if that was the issue and no change. I have read the sticky and tried different settings in the AudioConfiguration.xml - no joy. Audio woks fine in any other VR games and in Oculus Home. I even tried installing the DX9 files as recommended in another post.

Switching the default playback device on the Desktop from Rift audio back to normal headphones, sound plays fine through the normal headphones in VR.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Do your audio settings in Oculus Home agree with your Windows playback device. eg. Oculus Home is set to use Windows default then set Windows to headphones or speakers as you like. If OH is set to Rift headphones then choose the Rift from your desktop speaker control. Don't know if that helps or not.

Hi dogbite, thanks for the help - Oculus settings set to Rift and Desktop set to Rift, still no joy. I've also checked the audio settings in-game to make sure nothing wrong there.

Since you have audio in other games and OH this would suggest a corrupted file in ED. The only thing I can think of would be to uninstall ED completely and reinstall unless someone comes up with a better idea. Good luck
