I can touch type without looking quite ok(ish). The issue is finding the correct position for the start. There are those tactile markers on F and J but I always need some time to find them - time that might be critical e.g. in case of a pirate interdiction. I am thinking of making those markers a bit less subtle by sticking something on those keys that's easier to detect by feel. On the other hand I don't want to use anything that might be annoying when typing without HMD.

Also for numbers and punctuation marks I often have to peek.

haha and here I am, wishing I could connect my android phone to the game, so that I could have a little section near my hands where whatever's displayed on my phone screen is also displayed there so that I don't have to take the "helmet" off.

But my tip would be, paste a sellotape on the E key or J key or whichever, so when you need to type just finger around for the sellotape and you should be able to type easily now.

Ive put pieces of blu tac on some keys to help me find my way around, one on left alt, one on tab, one on v, one on enter and one on backspace.

With those markers i can find my way around the keyboard well enough without moving the DK2 off my face, im using a mini keyboard in between the HOTAS left/right parts.

Highly recommended to help find the starting positions for your hand easier.
