Rip off

So I entered into a contract with Frontier as follows. If I linked my account to Twitch and watched three hours of terminally boring gameplay then I would get some 'drops' such as coloured engine thrusts and lasers.

I did all of this and nothing happened. When I reported it, Juice (as they are too worried to put their real names it seems) said basically tough luck implying I had not followed the instructions or something.

I cannot expect a refund after so long playing but I can cancel the upgrade, uninstall as enough is enough, and tell people how crooked they are.

Shame really, with over 500 million saved and the best ship in the game fully upgraded. Ah well. The question is whether to refer this as a breach of trading standards as you cannot make an offer in this Country and then break it because you simply cannot be bothered.

Nah that's not really the question is it? The question is what sort of crank would throw away a decent game account for a game they presumably enjoyed, over a couple of coloured laser effects, especially when they almost inevitably did in fact fail to follow the instructions, which are notably different than those for most twitch drops. All I can say is that you seem to value your time according to some odd priorities.

I'm sure the supreme court are clearing the decks for you as we speak though.

I think Twitch drops and other such incentives are really scummy marketing, but I also think this is a complete overreaction.

They can't be expected to hand out rewards to anyone who asks as that would defeat the purpose of the marketing campaign in the first place...and they already have your money, so not extracting what enjoyment you can from it also seems silly.

my ships are painted my laser is coloured and i bought them with arx points, thats the way to go,why look for freebies and quit the game as they didnt cough up

What is this twitch you speak off?
In any case, colored lasers are worth quitting over? I get that sometimes you have just reached the end with something, and one little thing is just the last tiny bit needed to tip the cart, but I recommend you have seat, grab a pint of whatever you prefer, and forget about this til tomorrow.

Brand new forum account, what are you expecting here with such hostility? If asking support did not work, this is unfortunate but this isn't the way you'd be getting someone to review your situation for a mistake that is most likely your error. You had multiple ways of double-checking if the twitch drops were working. I triple-checked my twitch connection back then when they announced the anniversary stream.

There's only one way out:

Well well. Lets think about this. As ED is not subscription based game, you stopping playing and uninstalling it do not actually harm Fdev a bit. You have either paid for game, or got it free from Epic deal. Fdev already has its money, either from you or likely some from Epic. Stopping playing rather helps them as it eases (very little though) drain on their server resources. About only possible harm comes from you not buying stuff their store, and not buying later DLC's.
