And i thought this game was played mainly by mature thinking people, all this must have the best possible thing and don,t want to make an effort to get it sounds awfully like my 10 year old child, there is no such thing as the perfect game for everybody surely you understand that.
Personally i can,t wait to see all the new features coming soon, probably be some i don,t fancy but tough luck for me i,ll make do. All frontier have to do is make most of the people happy most of the time and that they have achieved.
Sorry to be so abrasive i,m just in a bad mood.

Because there is already a substantial hill to climb before even getting to the RNG slot machine?

The effort and resource costs are already there. Putting an additional layer of chance in at that point is just plain cruel and unnecessary. It'd be like after grinding out 600mil AND the rank for a Corvette, traveling to the system that sells it, paying the cash, then receiving a FDS instead, with a 'better luck next time' from the station shipyard just to      you off even more.
