Rogue System

Yeah, I never even heard of it until the other day.

Yeah - it seems to have flown under the radar. I backed this back during the Kickstarter and it was a shame it didn't meet it's target. I don't think the quality of the game had anything to do with that - it seemed more a case that there was a general lack of awareness of the game.

Anyway - it's good to see that the game is still coming along. :)

I'm incredibly excited for this game, not only because of the fact that they managed to find a publisher for it after failing their kickstarter, but because it hits the sweet spot between sci-fi and sim right in the center. I really love how it's coming together and can't wait to be able to get my hands on it. I just hope the graphics improve as the product gets more polish, specifically the weapon effects. Other than that, I just wish Digits Crossed the best of luck. This genre is becoming a bit crowded for the moment :/

Very nice, I already posted about this on other forums, We need to get more people into this.

Community goal for FD forums: Spread the word about this!

Testing has had two passes now.
And I think they have firmed up the eAccess price tiers.
There is a newsletter now, so visit the website and signup.
Hardcore is the only way to go.

Oh so great to see this still going, I though it was almost dead. Happy days!

Im worried about one thing though, will I be able to use my future, switch/button filled simpit or will everything be through ingame mouse interface?

edit:
Holy hell, its come a long way since I last checked it out!
Im sold, buying into it as soon as I get home!

I got this, takes about 10 minutes to start the engines, how the hell am I gonna remember all that!

Looks like it will be very cool, once I get over the massive learning curve

It only takes a few hours of practice and tutorials and you have it. When known to you, starting up takes only a minute or two.
What initially looks like alot really isnt much when you learn the cockpit. Its well designed though and very convincing :)

I just read something that struck me in the Rogue System forums. The dev said something along the lines of instead of making killing exciting he wants to make survival exciting. Now that is my kind of attitude for a game set in the dangers of space.

Edit:
Having played this a bit, I am strongly reminded of one of the best spaceflight battles from fiction when playing RS. I mean the battle between Angus Thermopyle and Nick Succurso in the Gap series of books by Stephen Donaldson.

Thanks to this game I am almost in the cockpit of Bright Beauty. Awesome!
:)

Rogue System is a game that certainly sets a new standard for space sims, or we could rephrase that and say, it is the only standard for space sims at present.
