Newcomer / Intro Rolling the RES dice

Some people seemed to experience that RES instances have a dice roll while being created, influencing the number of big ships this instance can produce. I always doubted that, but it may be true. There can be other factors at work, like time of day, pure luck (which can happen in any instance) and so on.
If that instance creating die roll really exists, it has to go. Any mechanic that makes me recreate instances all the time destroys immersion and is bad design.

Well I agree. I hate cheating I will never cheat and yet this tempts me. It breaks immersion so now what I do is fly to another RES site luckily on the other side if the planet.

and I haven't played much last couple of nights but I haven't picked up the big ship bounties either.
to be honest I would be glad if it's changed. I would prefer a RES to slowly escalate so you reap benefits of bigger bounties by working at it.
anyhoo it will change soon.

It seems to me that different systems do have different probabilities for Condas etc... I jumped to a different system and I made a lot of money in RES last night.
Also, it turns out that there may not be the distinction between Sidewinder RES and Conda RES anymore. In the old system, after a lot of Sideys, Cobras and Adders, I finally saw an Anaconda, Clipper and a Python, without leaving the RES.
It could be, though, that per system or per kind of RES, the probabilities for each ship are different.

Yes I concur. Made 840,000cr in 30mins in a RES last night and I spawned the usual adder, sidey, eagle to start, then a few cobras showed up and then it was full of python, dropships and pythons. After a bit the pickings dropped again, then suddenly another conda and clipper appeared. I think the spawns are just random.
