Newcomer / Intro Route Plotting Failure After Doing It Once Already.

Hi everyone,

A couple of days ago I plotted a long route as a last job before logging off for the night. The route plotted OK and that was that until the next day. When I logged back on, I opened the Galaxy Map to refresh the route again but was informed that the route plotting had failed. Not a big deal as I'm just heading here and there aimlessly exploring at this point so I just did a shorter, different route. Does anyone know why the route would plot once without a hitch and then fail on the refresh the next time around?

Thanks.

The usual reasons for plotting failures are changes in the ships mass due to cargo or fuel being added or some change to the ships modules.

A change in the map filters could do it.

But none of those should apply if you did nothing between plotting the route then logging off or between logging on then opening the galaxy map.

Nowadays another one might be if you were docked on someone’s carrier and it moved.

My guess is an inaccessible area of space in front of you.
The route usually meanders a little bit but the router can't plot "around" far enough, so it's possible that your last session ended too close in front of such area and the route plotter now tries and fails to plot the route through it. Try plotting a route "up" (or any other perpendicular direction) a couple hundred LYs
