Route Plotting is completely ruined

I have only had it happen on one trip out of many. Only difference I thought it might be was, I was on a mission from the bulletin board. Called the galaxy map from the Mission. Also on that one trip it lost the destination 2 times in a row, both times where when an NPC came after me as soon as I came out of Hypercruise. I thought it was done on purpose to make me panic :)
Has not happened since but I have been exploring and not taking missions.

Same, happens in both in solo and open, not targeting anything, touching any key, or opening up any menu. I have also never touched the cargo slider in all my time playing since I never saw any real use in it.

At this point I just chalk it up to FDev server flakiness and just close the game whenever it happens. Last time I tried to plow through the frustration I had to re-plot the same route 11 times, once after every jump.

Nearly same here. Isues:
- Routeplaning not working anymore.
Selecting targets which are far away: After the first jump target ist lost. Have to select it over and over again
- Planets hard selectable. I click on the target planet, but it gets not selected - it needs "experimenting", like the "hitbox"
is broken

My guess is it depends on how close to minimum spec you are for Horizons. On my laptop which has a better video card (NVidia) I have no problems plotting long courses. On my desktop which has an Radeon card, It works for a little while then goes to heck, losing my plot every other jump. However, I do have to say my Radeon card also can't render the planet ports well either, it's fine until I get to about 5km in and then I hit a wall that sudden spawns out of no where (intangible, but visible) and then it messes up the visual until I go 5km out. It's funny looking at a mountain wall inside the port, really it is.

So, best guess is it's a function of how close to minimum specs your system is. But that's only a guess.

I have found way to repeat it consistently!
One, have cargo in hold.
Two, enter a system with one of those big purple or red stars and discover that you can't target the star. If the star can't be targeted the nav path has broken.

I had this problem briefly in Beta 3 but couldn't put my finger on what was going on. It certainly seems to be a product of several circumstances causing this bug.

Hmm, you may be on to something. Both times I was carrying cargo and it was with systems with brown dwarfs. But I was able to target them. I'm returning to pick up more junk to sell. So far the way there (empty cargo hold, I know waste of a trip) I've not had any issues, but no brown dwarfs either. The way back, fully loaded I'll have some brown dwarfs, so I'll see if that's where it breaks for me.

I recorded my trip and it was at TASCHETER SECTOR GX-K A82 that I lost my nav path -- plotted route was from Bento to Hel with 12 cargo in hold (full load) of my Adder.

I have a decent system (i5 4670k, GTX980) and I've experienced buggy route planning. I don't think this is a hardware issue.

Plotting is indeed broken. Sometime the route behaves itself and lets you transition to the next waypoint without issue. Other times, the route 'breaks' on every jump. Sometimes the entire route is lost, requiring a complete replot. Other times the route is still plotted but you can't see the waypoints on the Nav panel, you can't select the next system with the hotkey, and you have to open the galaxy map, then close it again, in order to jump to the next system.

I've had it happen on numerous jumps, regardless of whether I had cargo or not, regardless of whether I stopped to do an ADS scan of a previously unknown system or not, regardless of combat, hostile status, or anything else.

It's ridiculously borked at present. Or the Galaxy has become whimsical and capricious, with a little touch of madness and malice thrown in for spice.

It's also possible that it's part of a Thargoid plot, designed to cause confusion and chaos, right before the invasion starts.

You mean systems for which you don't have system /exploration data?

Had this happening to me on the release day or day 2, but haven't happened again, lucky me because this bug is annoying as hell. Switching between economical and fastest routes usually fixed it.

Route failed on me repeatedly this morning (have since exited to desktop & re started the game, seems to have fixed it for now). At one of the mid-route M-class stars I decided to scan the in-range bodies & found an undiscovered waterworld :D

So it's not all bad ;)

I went through many such systems last night.

Never found a star I couldn't target though?

If the issue can be resolved by switching between economy and fastest then that at least should give the devs a clue (and should be added to any bug report).

You can't target stars when you don't have a disco scanner and no system data.

Aaah ic. I don't travel without a scanner (otherwise you can end up not being able to find mission destinations).

Are there people without scanners who still get this issue?

Route planner resets itself after 1 or 2 jumps. Good thing I almost don't play main game anymore - having a blast in CQC. But since yesterday I can't get into a match in cqc too.

Feels like frontier forgot to pay amazon for their servers. And now we have to wait until everything will get beck online
