Ruler for recreating real parks

Recently purchased the prog and looking forward to delving in to creating something. I would like to start with a real park and want to use measurements as close as possible. I can use Google Earth to give me a rough estimate of lengths etc but is there a way to measuring in PC, such as a ruler? I have seen some other measuring devices in the Workshop but these are aimed at buildings etc.

Maybe use the wooden pillars? You have them in 1, 2 and 4m length and you can string 'em together to make longer rulers.

Thank you both. Never even thought about something as basic as using pieces with a known length to string together. Also like the billboard option for angles. Cheers again.

The billboards clearly have more functions to them then just for scenery. [up]
