Hello copyright lawsuit! :D

As long as he's not a bespectacled boy wizard with an owl companion then we're OK. ;)

I'm just incredibly saddened by the fact this game is clearly broken. Multicrew just fell apart when it was being used for the purpose it was built for. Instancing is and forever will remain a joke, because the P2P model simply cannot cope with this type of thing - the very thing Frontier keep pushing people to play in Open for.

I have been wanting this game to succeed for YEARS, and even now, with a relatively painless event, it keels over and dies. Never mind the event was heavily preplanned, that's a different complaint.

I vote Frontier give up with Elite Dangerous, start again, and write a properly working game that can cope with the demands being asked of it. Call it Elite: Deadly perhaps.

But...Brett says it isn't an *official* Frontier event! :)

Thanks to those who gave us our servers back. :)

I was watching HP's twitch stream and thought I saw some RP text about Salome being under arrest and that she should power down her engines and surrender to the Imperial forces.

Did I see those words? If so, were they plot points?

You might be missing the point - SDC made it their goal to kill Salomé - they didn't realize that wasn't the goal of the operation. Salomé gave her life to give the others a chance to get through...." - others may disagree but that's one way to make it a nice story.

Not only that, but you have an arrogant guy trying to lead Salomés defence not realising that the biggest threat came from within - this is all a gift for any author - once the dust has settled Drew will actually be quite happy about it.

Oh sure, drew and the book are fine, I am not concerned at all. But if those self-declared True Defenders who went all macho are for real, oh boy...

Oh well I guess. Good luck to Drew with sorting out the copyright issues when he has to write J.K. Rowling's main character's name into his new book.

P.S. whose idea was it to trust SDC with the defense of Salome and NOT expect a double cross?

The only one that will get something out of this is Drew. $$$
First time ive seen someone that write a book and let the ending be "written" by the help of a gaming company and their community. That's a darn nice advertising for a book.
Are you gona buy the book?

I don't know Drew or anything about him but I imagine he is super pleased about this. He is under no obligation to name Potter at all and this is all massive publicity for him. Far, far, far more than if Salome had arrived safely at her destination without incident.

Will we have to have read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows first? You know, in order to understand why Harry went evil in the year 3302 [haha]

I dunno about pleased. At least not yet. Perhaps relief is a better term. When you write about a character and want to move onto something else, it's a bittersweet moment saying goodbye to a character you've spent a lot of time on. Feeling a weight lifted off your shoulders is a powerful experience.
