You have that the wrong way round. If you need reading glasses you are long sighted. I am short sighted and need glasses to use the rift.
Doh, always get those the wrong way round. Now corrected, thanks.

Are you long or short sighted? If long sighted (i.e. glasses for reading) then you won't need them (it's a miracle! I can read in VR). If short then small framed glasses will fit inside the headset (my wife needs them) but it can be a bit fiddly getting the headset on and off. Also, be VERY careful that your lenses aren't touching the Rift lenses, otherwise you can scratch them. If it's a major issue for you then VR lens lab sell lens inserts.
I owned a Pimax 4k BE Edition (the OLED one) for about 10 months and only sold it recently on craigslist .. I found it to be an amazing headset for Elite - I'm now playing on an Oculus until my 8k rig arrives later this year, and it's definitely a step down for me, but It'll do
I tried an early prototype of the 8k up in San Francisco and I found it to be very comfortable indeed. I do agree with you on the Samsung - I did try one and found it to be horribly uncomfortable. I ended up returning mine after two days because it does not support my IPD (almost, but not quite - which made everything ever-so-slightly out of focus for me)
