Sandbox mode shouldn't have unlimited funds, that would be creative mode, not sandbox

Every other sandbox game meaning.
What is the meaning of sandbox game?
A sandbox is a style of game in which minimal character limitations are placed on the gamer, allowing the gamer to roam and change a virtual world at will. In contrast to a progression-style game, a sandbox game emphasizes roaming and allows a gamer to select tasks.

What creative mode is.... (Minecraft site defines it quite well as it is)
Creative mode is a game mode introduced in the Beta 1.8 update. In this mode, players have unlimited resources, health, and experience. Players also have the ability to fly. Hostile mobs will not attack, and as of release 1.6, they will not fight back when attacked. All blocks can be placed or destroyed with one hit, while inside the world border.

Challenging is well, suppose to be a very hard game mode, for people that find very hard easy.
Challenging isn't due to limited funds, its about you being whammied by everything and you struggle to build and get ahead.

These are the differences, what you guys say about the "Old" theme park games etc isn't challenging at all.

a true sandbox gives you the choices of whether to start with small or normal or huge amount of funds, it allows you to choose day time speed, whether impact intervals between specific times, a sandbox mode is generally a loop, you play until your bored, while you make neverending progress.

"I want to build the ultimate park without funds" = That is what creative mode is, you get creative and let your mind run wild, although my perspective this makes the game boring unless your testing things out, to me its boring because you get no sense of proud achievement by creating the ultimate park without any limits.

TLDR

Sandbox mode = create game from the start, you can play however you like until your bored.
Creative mode = let your imaginitive mind get creative and build whatever you like without limits
Challenging mode = A very hard game mode aka nightmare.
Story Mode = follow the linear set tasks until you complete the story, this is the most obvious mode

sure this is the company's modes, but doesn't define the actual modes of what they should be, if i tell an artist to go sandbox on a painting, they're going to look at me gone out, now if i told them just to go creative on the painting, they'll understand to create whatever comes to mind and since an artist normally has all the paint they need, that represents what "creative" is.

Certainly that is what it is in Minecraft. I suppose for me it could go either way, I can certainly see where you're coming from but as long as we know what we're getting form the mode I think it'll be all gravy.

would you prefer just a renamed mode, or possibly both modes (one insta cash and one not)?

It's a sandbox mode fam. Gaming terminology is loosely defined and often overlaps other definitions. What you described as sandbox, "A sandbox is a style of game in which minimal character limitations are placed on the gamer, allowing the gamer to roam and change a virtual world at will", this still describes what we have on Nublar. That's because creative and sandbox overlap each other. Creative mode is a type of sandbox.

If you don't like the sanbox idea don't play it...simple as that. play the other 5 islands instead... we've already had this discussion before ;) I'm totally fine with this sanbox format tbh... atleast we got one. and is it even confirmed if we have unlimited or if we can make the fund setting ourself?

Sandbox mode is exactly what it is? Have you ever played in a sandbox as a kid? You basically have unrestricted freedom to do anything you wanted. That is what sandbox mode is. Having to worry about money would be a restriction.

To add onto this and comment and to something OP mentioned, if they had called Minecraft's creative mode "sandbox mode", no one would have bat an eye, because the two are synonymous.

This whole sandbox thing with unlimited funds doesn't bother me...Sure I'll focus more on the missions etc, but sometimes it's fun just to chill and make a park without having to worry about funds.

Back in days of old sandbox games let you create your own worlds, there would lots of options including whether you have unlimited resources or a starting amount you set so you can play it your way. having creative modes and challenge modes just confuse the original concept of a sandbox, it should be one mode with a lot of customisation options.

Tons of people asking for this

this is the most asked for feature, fresh island nothing built, earn everything... shouldnt be hard to do... and add a difficulty setting......

Having played right the way through it seems having a sandbox with unlocks wouldn't be possible for the items locked into the contracts, I'm not sure how they'd rework the contract system to let you play though every mission on one island.

simple...

have the research building unlock everything with money...... an still have to do excavations to get fossils to unlock dinos. basically removing contracts if needed... Dont see also why they couldnt just have all contracts obtainable on the sandbox island...
