Sandbox mode

I love building and management games, I was looking forward to try this out, but of course only if it has sandbox mode.

By sandbox mode I don't mean a free building game without limits or budgets, I very much want the management part as well, as the fun of a building/management game is to build your dream island/park/city/etc while struggling to make ends meet.

I just want to be free from any kind of "story" or rigid objective-driven gameplay.

I would like something similar to Site B where we were free to build whatever we wanted and let dinos roam free.
Apparently, the dinosaur count is supposed to be higher than Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis.
And each dinosaurs would interact with each other in different ways.
I want to be able to put several different carnivores around, and see which becomes the king of the island.

I think a very important question is one of mindset and purpose for this game. Is it a direct movie product tie in game, or is it a game that is set in the movie world?

I think if Universal is looking at this as a merchandising opportunity first and foremost, that many of us sim fans are going to be disappointed. I really don't think this is akin to say Planet Coaster and their IP agreement to use Back to the Future items in an otherwise unaffiliated game. I am concerned that this will not be the long awaited Planet Safari or Planet Coaster with Dinosaurs that many are thinking it will be. I hope I am wrong. I really do because I want that, but my gut feels as if this is going to be a pretty direct out of the box, feature complete, few minor patches then done kind of game, as many movie product tie in games are.

This is a game Frontier is developing and paying for. In countless interviews they have said that they will continue to treat this game post-release the same way they've treated PC and ED.

Secondly, it makes no sense financially for Universal to limit this game in anyway. Frontier and Universal approached one another to attempt this game. Universal understood that Frontier are specialists in these sort of games and have stated many times that they have let Frontier have (basically) full rein over the project. Any shortcomings this game has is frontiers fault.

Build your own sandbox...or buy...

Couldnt you just build a park up get a ton of money, then sell everything get even more money and delete the roads and stuff and just build fresh?
