Sandbox with everything unlocked

I personally think that sandbox mode should have everything unlocked from the start, here is my reason why.

Sandbox was once introduced in games specially for people who dont want to play career modes and want to unlock things, its for people that want creative freedom to play the way they want.

I got thrown back into this because I recently reviewed a couple games that have a real sandbox mode, you start sandbox mode and poof everything is unlocked for offcourse only sandbox mode.
I was yes this is what sandbox modes use to be and then I thought why do games like JWE1 and the upcoming JWE 2 dont have this, it would solve so many frustrations for people who just want to play sandbox mode.

So I'm asking the devs to please give us a real sandbox mode where everything is unlocked, for people that dont like it they can play career mode.

I like that not everything is unlocked from the beginning. Makes it really fun to unlock those things and get a feel of satisfaction for having achieved something.Glad the devs made it this way

Then you just want to play the campaign mode, where you unlock stuff along the way. It has nothing to do with a sandbox. It's so weird that you have to play through the entire campaign, before you can really use the sandbox mode at all. It's such a waste of time.

You can just unlock a lot of the stuff on a challenge mode map too apparently, rather then the campaign, I read that in a dev post earlier. It just has to be researched somewhere.

I’m fine with it I’m just going to do a big playthrough of the campaign achievement hunting along the way then I’m gonna do all the challenge mode maps on every difficulty easy to Jurassic then by the time I’m done with that there’ll probably be a DLC so I’ll do that then I’ll just do random sandbox stuff

Honestly I don’t even know why I just told you my entire plan for JWE 2

Uhh no, since discovering all the new species and unlocking them is a huge part of all the fun. Having it all available from the beginning in the sandbox mode totally destroys that aspect. This game is not a pure sandbox game after all. The story and campaign are an essential aspect of this game, whether you like it or not

Then there's absolutely no point in having a sandbox mode in the first place. The story mode doesn't bring anything different to the game besides doing missions, which is just to unlock stuff. The game is still a park builder. It's just a hassle and ruins it for all the people that just want to make the perfect park. If it was all about the campaign, then remove the sandbox mode. I would be fine with that. But Sandbox modes have everything unlocked. That's the whole point of it. So either remove it or make it what it's supposed to be.

Alot of people don't find it fun to unlock stuff in a building game...

Sorry but Elvis has left the building on this.

The template was set in JWE and I don't see Frontier changing that. They did make a concession, for JWE2 to have Sandbox mode availible from the get go, albeit with minimul availibility to all assets. You don't have to play the campaign if you don't want to. If you want access to everything, then you do. That is your choice.

I enjoy the unlock for two reasons
1) sense of discovery - Don't know what everything is right from the start
2) Goals - gives me goals/rewards to actually achieve some weird fun stuff in the story and challenge. Kinda like how you used to unlock stuff in old Mario Cart or Smash Bros

Possible Work around - have an old-school cheat code (contra code) that lets you use everything in a sandbox game but doesn't actually unlock it. Could also have it stop people from being able to get achievements from the park it was used in (if they want to gate achievements that is). People who want to build can build and those of us who like the unlock system can still benefit from it. Also would create a way to play with everything without breaking the unlock system. If after you play with everything you want to see if you could unlock it, you still can without messing with all your saves.

Finally someone who sees eye to eye with me well not the cheat code but the first part yes

There's absolutely no point in making a park in sandbox mode from the beginning, if you only have dinosaurs and buildings unlocked to make a 2 star park. Then remove the mode or make it a sandbox mode. Right now it just offers your campaign progression without missions. Doesn't make any sense. And why are people against it, if you're not going to play sandbox yourself. Then it would be no problem for you, to have all things unlocked in there. It would be very nice for all the other people though, that don't want to go through the hassle that is the campaign.

It's the same principle: getting hung up on something it doesn't even cost you money.

The fact that it was spoiled, was because they didn't want to spend 2 dollars on DLC content, that they didn't even have to pay for in the first place. How is this the same? This thread is about misusing a mode, that doesn't give the players what the title says... Has nothing to do with money and it's not an optional feature either. So please stop reaching... There still hasen't been one good reason, for not having everything unlocked in the sandbox.
