There was a one-off Type-9 cow skin for a Special Effect charity auction back in 2017.

Re: the Type 9 cow print.

For whatever reason, whether that’s lore, personal preference from the art team, style/visual adherence to the themes of Elite Dangerous, or other, the cow print would not have made it in to Elite Dangerous as a paint job for everyone to use. However, a light-hearted paint job like this was perfect for this special occasion.

I wanted to explain this, because we’d really like to reduce any negativity hanging over the 24 hour Christmas charity event for any reason.

As always we take your feedback seriously, and will discuss with the team responsible for creating paint jobs for future use. I’m sure similar paint jobs may be available in future, but this one is staying unique for this occasion!

I agreed with Robert's point (above Ed's post in the linked thread) at the time and I still do now. The aim was to raise money for charity, I'm sure they would have raised more with a time-limited sale than by allowing one player with a high disposable income to bid a daft amount for a one-off paint in an auction. I will also say that any argument about 'fitting in with the art style of Elite' hasn't aged particularly well. Not when we have snowmen in Christmas jumpers, day-glo skeletons and jack o lantern headed freaks running around

I'm still mortally offended that Bunny suits didn't appear at Easter, and that Hula bobbleheads are not on the menu.

You forgot the mention the, very tasteful, Chinese New Year suit... (Yes, I have all of the interesting suits - but not the 'retro' one as it isn't interesting for me)

I would have been down for bunny suits for sure. Hula girls I can take or leave.

What I really want though (for six years now) is an 'Explorers do it in the Asp' bumper sticker decal. One day...
