Save screenshot as .jpg

Not sure if this is doable - I tried a search but didn't find anything.

Is there a config file somewhere (or something else) that allows screenshots to be saved in .jpg format? Or are we stuck with bitmaps?

Stuck with bitmap. There is a 3rd party thing that will autoconvert and rename them tho, can't recall it's name.

EDDiscovery will do that conversion.

Irfanview as well. Free to use with lots of plugins and 64bit. Maybe its even possible to do that via cmd so you dont have to do a batch manually all the time.

The game itself will only save bitmaps, which is silly.

However, there are tons of third-party screen cap utilities. I currently use a plug-in for OBS studio to take screen shots, as that's what I use for recording video.

I let EDDiscovery convert them for me. Works great and fully configurable.

Just thought I'd try this out to see if it works.
Took screenshot (F10 on keyboard), picked out the file from the game screenshots folder/files (bmp. file) then loaded that picture into MS Paint. Saved file as jpeg.
Errm, works fine, but when I drag and drop the jpg. into 'insert image' from the above menu rolldown box it says "ooops we ran into some problems'. ?
File size is around the 200 KB mark.

If you run EDSM, there's a plugin that converts and organizes your screenshots to your heart's content.
