The possibility to save different ship loadouts, firegroups and module power priorities (and to equip them quickly if they're stored at your current location) would be a great feature that has been raised many times. Another game with a pretty specific element in this case, ships. Without Horizons it was pretty much all about buying a ship equipping them and then enjoying the content of the game with said ship. So why like so many games now (The Division springs to mind) does it not have load outs? I know...forums.frontier.co.uk

Programmable Ship Loadout Presets
You've just come back to your home station after a long exploration time outside the bubble. Module storage is awesome, and with that IMO it gives multi-purpose ships a huge boost. We can now have the modules stored to configure our ship for any kind of role, or even multiple roles at once if your so inclined to do so. Some way to save ship fitting layouts
I use my ASP Explorer for Mining, Trading, Exploration etc. and often change fittings; but wouldn't it be nice to have a fittings saved button so you could name the fitting and if you have the modules in storage it would automatically fit them at the click of a button?forums.frontier.co.uk

Ability to save loadouts
As the title says. I have an Anaconda set up for exploration, but it would be nice to be able to switch to a combat setup on the fly, especially now that aliens are coming. If your modules are in another station it could give you an option to transfer them. Not asking for infinite saved...forums.frontier.co.uk

So with the impending feature that we will be able to store ship modules, I am wondering.. do we know if thats all we are getting or have they included the slightly obvious feature to have pre-saved loadouts with the gear you own? At the moment, it is a tedious and time consuming task to switch a ship from trading to exploring or to any other gameplay type. Ship fitting profiles
Could you add the ability to switch between saved ship fitting profiles? Changing out an entire loadout from combat to exploration etc takes a lot of time especially since you thought it would be cool we had to watch as each module disappears and is replaced with the new one. I find I often switch a single ships parts around for the various roles I use it for (anaconda for instance). If we could save loads for each ship that would make it much quicker and more precise process (ever forget your detailed surface scanner and only realize it after jumping 30 times?). Just a few arguments:
- our time is valuable. Especially for players with a full time job and family. Sitting in a dock and changing your loadout and firegroups for the 20th time from one role to another isn't fun.
- more playtime with your friends. Quite a few times a friend came spontaneously online and we wanted to go bounty hunting in a res site. Instead of a simple button press at my home station where all my modules are stored, I need to fiddle around with outfitting to change the equipment of my Conda. Valuable coop playtime lost every time.
- "Purchase another Ship" isn't a good argument. Again our time is valuable. Not every player has so much spare money and time to buy and equip several ships, especially if you have engineered modules you don't want to do that twice or even more often. Even without the money and grind argument: when the game provides a feature like re-equipping a ship it shouldn't be a time sink using it, as it's just repetitive, slow and boring gameplay to equip your ship in a specific way over and over again. Some QoL additions are needed, like the many linked threads above clearly show.
