Say goodbye to Anarchies

It wasn't easy running an anarchy PMF with all the BGS levers stacked against them, like no access to bounties and being the target of every massacre mission, but Odyssey seems to be the last nail in the coffin.

A small snapshot of the influence drop for the top 3 anarchy PMFs by systems controlled since the update:

1. Explorers of the Anarchy - 36 star systems

2. Diamond Frogs - 32 star systems

3. Brotherhood of Terra Mater - 17 star systems

This is getting ridiculous. If FDev's idea of balance is having one government type fight with spears while everybody else gets a tank, well, mission accomplished !

Can't hurt to point out this will negatively affect sales of Odyssey on PC and the console of your choice when it launches there, since only those playing now can play in lawless space and visit lawless settlements while enjoying the special gameplay opportunities they offer. With the extinction of anarchies, lawless areas will disappear as well within a matter of weeks along with most players still supporting them.

Anarchies were always the most challenging to support, and not generally self-sustaining.

They lack a key influence tool - bounties.

And of course there is an understandable tendancy for even non faction oriented players to generally do work that opposes anarchy factions.

Support your local pirates, for the fun of it ;)

I understand, but what changed with Odyssey ?
That's not quite clear yet. Odyssee is way too new for anyone to have a working understanding of it's full effects on the BGS. Fact is that anarchies everywhere are cratering like crazy and will be eliminated as system controllers across the galaxy in a matter of weeks if this keeps up. Feels like FDev just issued Order 66.

Well anarchies are not very well known about being orderly coordinatedly lead governments. Typically irl anarchy is result of lack of any centralised coordinated power. And tends to be short lived situation.
We ain't playing history simulator here or failed/outdated governments like communism, feudalism, theocracy etc. won't even exist. This might be a fascinating discussion for scholars but has no bearing on the topic at hand.

A combat focused shooter dlc bolt on and im sure a lot of Odyssey players are doing combat missions most likely against anarchy factions, I would assume
Not that likely. Restore mission have non faction "lawless"/"wanted" NPCs. CZ have regular faction, not pirates. You also have a lot of illegal stuff but it's not against pirates.
There are exterminate mission, but the one I had were bugged, and didn't spawn faction pirate in the only base the faction had, only the previously mentioned lawless unaffiliated dudes.

All the engineers unlock are around either goodies to sell, or CZ/restore mission/Heist, and none of them are against pirates faction. And I assume a lot of people are running those.

It's possible, but not as obvious as you make it to be^^

2 or more..things I have to say
you all should know better than most the difference between anarchists and criminals
Anarchist also do have criminals
And I will add , I can show you how to get bounties for them.
I average 30mil a day with little effort. if pressed triple or more is not an issue
If you are more than 1 cmdr, you can easily do far more than I did. I am 1 guy pretending to be a squadron.

I can also (you probably already know) how to use the black market correctly, it has changed a lot but is still very valuable.
I only say this part because too many people do not understand the black market in the same way they do not have any idea how to deal with anarchy or even the diff between crime and anarchy.
fwiw, one of the things that made me angry during the update was getting hundreds of millions in fines because I could not get back into the game to finish a project I started with a black market..should have earned over 2bil, instead I lost over 2 bil. thanks to the combined missions failing topped with the market crash(?)[destruction]
The money is peanuts, it was the rep loss that hurt. Between that and OD, I was suddenly Cordial with Feds and Hostile with Empire...nice, this was not the result of the missions alone.
Should not have taken over 24 hours to get back into the game.

I am offering my help because of what you have said, that you cannot collect bounties for anarchy faction
This is wrong, not you, the notion. and bounties are the #1 BGS tool for normal factions. So logic says anarchists should get this too, and they do.
Any/all criminal activity will get a bounty if in the right place. And there are at least 2 methods I use to get these.

I have quit the game. and will only ever fly again for fun, thanks to this disaster.
The time it takes to play the bgs only to have it wrecked over and over again by the developers themselves.
And I have emails from support from times when the BGS was so broken that conflicts went backwards, and worse, and the responses I have saying they are not responsible for the BGS are impressive.
I was responsible for several factions in my area with 1 pmf mine, the rest npc, but they are all npc.
my anarchy faction is tremendous and far more powerful and rich than the empire allies it has..interestingly as I have told soo many, you cannot stop crime. But you can control it.
But it isn't a crime everywhere(no matter what it is) more importantly, anarchy factions should teach non-anarchist how to make a system prosper. But power and greed prevent this.
my systems are being torn apart as I have not been able to play since the night before the release. and they are under heavy attacks. and it does not matter. I had more than 7 years of fun.
I attribute it mostly to what has always been my enemy in the game, sandcastle kickers mostly, and a bit of random travellers
I don't wish to see the rich powerful anarchist defeated.
I was so angry, I was going to turn all my other systems over to my anarchy faction.
But, no point, that's a project, and no more projects in ED for me.

Some of you may know me, many know my alt all too well, as I was the first person in here screaming at fdev over this fiasco, till I intentionally got banned.
They didn't listen and never will, this we know.

Anyway, in all that I did in the game, I do like helping more than anything.
soo, even though this OD is destroying horizons as we are here..(any actions in od are very detrimental for Horizons. this will eventually come clear with further admissions and various code samples)
and as such, is more responsible for the inf loss your graphs here are showing than you can imagine, sadly not for any of the reasons that have been mentioned here.
this is the 100% expected and I did predict, destroyed market upon the release. and just like carriers release, missing market history.
I hope you all remember what the cure was, its the same again. But it wont stop until they separate OD from Horizons.

The bountyhunting and massacre buff caused a similar effect in december, with any anarchy faction within 10ly of any system that gets any traffic worth mentioning gettting tanked down to 1%. It's kinda daft and it's been the elephant in the room for the BGS since forever.

Right now people are deliberately seeking out anarchies to practice base raids to farm materials without having to worry about C&P. Kinda the same thing that happened to that one skimmer mission goldrush back in the day - it was pointed at an anarchy base, so you could stack 20 of them and come away clean.

and as a person that has done the stacking before and after it was nerfed, I will say that I did this for billions of credits and I killed so much of the same faction that they started sending assassins after me, then more and more.
my systems are special in that all the factions only want one faction killed in the next system over
so, to stack means you are roughly getting 1 mission from each faction
this almost always balances the entire inf for the day all on its own.
I have system in the billions where this goes on and systems in the millions where this goes on. they are actually quite stable
and fwiw, this is the same anarchy faction, I mentioned in my first post
they are my neighbor, my worst enemy and my best ally and they love me for killing all their criminals.
7 years of killing them, and them and everyone else paying me to do it. fascinating.
One thing they do like is killing and being killed.
In system you mention, I would be interested to know if they have markets or not.
more questions about that later
Are you aware that many cmdrs steal from factions , a lot. enough to seriously damage their inf in a day..?
My experience in this games shows me that most of the 'pirates' (cmdrs) really know nothing about black market.
But there are people like me, not a pirate, but make hundreds of millions daily by stealing.
some of my enemies use this to try and damage my systems too, funny to watch them, they aren't very good at it.

the black market is only changed, not broken
Do you know how to steal palladium, silver, gold or whatever items they might prefer...not from other ships..
