SC vs ED

I like how you're comparing two space sims but avoid talking about any actual flying. It's not very hard to guess why considering the awful experience flying in SC is.

Now I know that ED pales in comparison to SC for funding (Close to 59 mil now) but the main reason they have gotten this funding is because they Deliver, they are more active in the community and take the feedback from players more seriously.

They deliver?

yeah ok, just another SC troll then.

I'm surprised this topic is still here.

Thread zombies!!! maybe it's Halloween already?

Firstly they are two completely different games and styles have to agree with the other posters this has been done to death on these forums so why bring it back to life, it's the main reason i just popped in to the forums for months while i was waiting to jump into Elite as i felt the forums were being hijacked by SC fans all the time,

I hope Elite players are not doing that to the folks on the SC forum also.

i suggest starting a thread about some of the features we will have from the devs plan threads, also SC is massively funded and still trying to rake in more (not nesesarily a bad thing) and Ed is growing financially more slowly so I don't see the problem with paid major updates i suspect if Elite goes mental after full release we may be seeing very reasonable prices for updates and maybe even free content updates too if it makes a very large sales return. I may be wrong of course but it strikes me as the "British" way to go.

how many Hollywood blockbusters were all money and hype and no actual substance? (not saying this has to be the case with SC b.t.w. but just pointing out that David B. O.B.E. has a long and trusted history of going a very very long way on not a lot of cash and resource.

I will put my money on frontiers heritage and my confidence in their ingenuity to deliver and see what happens in the long term.

In the mean time i respectfully, but cheekily suggest you have a long lie down in a dark cargo hold. while i go check out some stunning stellar phenomena.

btw we get mining next week and it's included! :D

We already have a thread where Star Citizen can be discussed.

Closing this thread and I will find a link for the other thread.

If you want to be fair...

SC started off with more expensive backing options (i'm into it for $350, myself, opposed to the $150 in ED)

I bought a ship with 'Lifetime insurance' that was a limited offer (i.e., but this ship now because it will not be allowed after x date, and you will be rewarded as being amongst the few who have it)

SC's:
Started well before ED.
Missed every deadline.
Failed to deliver on the original idea (the concept is now EXCEPTIONALLY different)
Changed the contents of the 'package that was already paid for'.
Started reselling the ships that were 'exclusive purchase now before they're gone'

And are almost a year and a half behind delivering on what they promised.

All of this with over 45 million in the bank?

Compared to ED, SC's motivations are completely different.

I am incredibly pleased with ED's steady progress, promises of delivery, and THE ACTUAL DEVELOPERS RESPOND IN THE FORUMS TO THE ACTUAL PEOPLE WHO ARE PAYING FOR THE GAME.

As opposed to a team of PR reps hired to keep the PRIVATE ACCESS SC ONLY forums clear of any 'questions regarding missed delivery'.

SC and ED are two different games that have alot to thank each other for over the course of the years to get them here.

I love both universes equally.

I'm sure i'll enjoy SC when i can jump to... Errr... If i can explore... Uhhh, maybe go bounty... Ahhh. I can in-game voice comms with... Err, i can configure my...

And SC has *HOW MANY PEOPLE WORKING ON IT*

But i'll stick with ED, because I trust them based on their actions, delivery, and interaction with *US*.

Thanks everyone, /RANT:OFF

Snuggs...

P.S. Play what you want, every game is good, but i have 'invested' in both and am entitled to my opinion, and based on the effort i put in to stay in the SC universe, i've not received the return of 'fun' that i have with ED.

P.P.S. Your opinion may vary, and you're very well entitled to it!
