Scanning Bulk Cruiser Mega Ships

Hello CMDR,

In one of my weekly tasks I am asked to scan Bulk Cruisers in acquisition systems. I have scanned these before and i know how to search for acquisition systems. What I don't know is how to do this effectively.
Right now I am flying around the bubble and hopping from one acquisition system to another, but I am not finding many bulk cruisers. Looking them up on Inara is worthless, because most time the bulk cruiser has moved to another system. On top of that I can't select acquisition systems, so that also makes it harder.

Is there a more effective way to do this assignment than just randomly jump around and getting frustrated?

I got that one last week and how easy (or even possible) it is probably depends on your Power and how much Acquirable space they have right now.

I don't think there's an in-game way to optimise it beyond what you're already doing.

I do hope they improve this. Now I am just rolling the dice on good luck. If the luck is not that good, it can take many hours if not days to fill in this assignment.

Yeah ... I know about this in Inara. The link in my post points to this.
The thing is that those Bulk Cuisers move around. This list is not up to date. When the Thursday tick comes, it changes.
I may have to try it in a few days. Perhaps it will be updated then.
It still is a search to get the acquisition systems, but it is a little better.

I gave up on doing this mission with Inara's assistance. I just ended up setting my map to filter my Power's Acquisition systems, flew to the systems, scanned the Nav Beacon, and filtered for Point of Interest in my left menu. That was waaay more efficient then hoping that Inara was up-to-date.

You don't think you have to scan the nav beacon for finding mega ships. Just filter for points of interest and the ships will show.

I just jump from system to system for these and combine it with rescue/salvage.

Correct. When entering system I scroll through left panel and if they have a mega ship I’ll drop into the nav beacon to resolve all of the signal sources, then I’ll hit any of the PP ones before ending at the megaship(s). Hit up a station for PP contact and limpet restock, then off to the next. Definitely agree with others that isn’t a task best done with alt tabbing for meta knowledge. You have a week to do them and they are frequent enough in systems they can be passively done while passing through.
