Scenery pack and Animal pack counterparts +ideas for future DLCs

I don't know, that others noticed this, but there are some Scenery pack and Animal pack counterparts of the history of Planet Zoo.

Aquatic pack - Wetlands animal pack
Southeast Asia animal pack
- Tropical pack (since in the latter there are Indonesian scenery, which fits well for a Southeast Asia themed DLC)
Africa pack - Arid animal pack

These would be my personal counterpart ideas for future DLCs:
Australia pack (existing DLC) - Oceania animal pack
North America animal pack (existing DLC) - Wild West pack
Europe pack (existing DLC) - Europe animal pack
Conservation pack (existing DLC) - Endangered animal pack
Grasslands animal pack (existing DLC) - Savannah pack (where would fit the Blackbuck, Secretary bird and African leopard)

What do you think? And what would be your ideas/wishes?

I honestly could see the Taiga or highlands dlc being mostly NA animals with some kind of build theme that I can’t exactly think of

Would really like an Oceania and endangered animal packs as our ones for next year. Though for this year we could get a continental or Alpine dlc as a counterpart to Arctic Pack.

Actually I got a thought, next dlc will be a North America with northern Asian flavor. Similar to how tropical was SEA build, 2 seas, 2 africa and 1 SA
Highlands dlc
1. Takin
2. American Black Bear
3. Wolverine
4. Bighorn sheep
5. Koi pond WE

Now here’s what I think can complement Europe. I’m not sure of an appropriate name as many of the European animals I’m going to name are all found in the same biome that I can think of on the meta wishlist.
1. Golden Jackal
2. European Hare
3. Wisent
4. Capercaillie
5. Musk ox
6. Chamois
7. Wild boar
8. Idk

Australia Pack - Islands Animal Pack: an Island pack kinda is bound to be Oceania heavy, now more than ever with the fossa out of the way.
NA Animal Pack - Mountain Pack: I can really see something like this being themed around mountain lodges and log style building.
Europe Pack - Temperate Animal Pack: Mix of european animals like wild boar and wolverine with more from around the world
Arctic Pack - Polar/Tundra Animal Pack: Pretty selfeyplainatory
SA Pack - Amazon/Rainforest Animal Pack: Pretty selfexplainatory

Regarding Europe, I would explore a different option, rather than just make a European Animal Pack. If you look at past packs and even the examples here as evidence, the themes are connected in a broader scope, but not outright named the same theme. Southeast Asia and Wetlands definitely lend themselves to a Tropical theme, for many of the animals, and the Arid pack definitely feels like a supplemental Africa pack, with expanding to the Middle East a bit.

Rather than European Animal Pack I'd go with a Woodlands Animal pack, which is more of a Temperate focus. The Twilight, Europe and North American packs already feel like they're stealth Temperate packs, but do expand into other biomes. It's going to be some of the same here, with some of these animals being in other biomes than temperate and even Temperate/Tagia.

The animals I'd choose - I realize some of these may be controversial, and get a lot of both support and complaints, but I think at least the first four would be solid choices:
Wolverine
Wild Boar
Wisent
Mute Swan
Muskox
Wapuiti (Elk for Americans)
Eurasian Brown Bear

I'm not sure of the exhibit animal.

Other options are a Eurasian Otter, Chamois or Roe Deer for specific species, or Rabbits/Hares, Pine Martins or Stoats as well. This would potentially double up on deer or mustelids depending on the exact lineup, but Frontier has doubled up on taxonomically similar animals before (with this most recent pack in fact!)

I was thinking about this todas.

SEA animal pack - Tropical pack. First one gave us the animals and then we got the scenery to match that region.

Aquatic pack - Wetlands. The opposite and in this case adds the capybara, the platypus and the ASCO all notable omisions from the scenery pack. It is still lacking waterfowl (think more like ducks or pelicans).

Africa pack - Arid Animal Pack. The africa pack was weird when first came out because none of the animals matched the scenery. Then we got the arid animal pack to make up for that and to add the dromedary camel which was ignored for the formar pack. And once again the Africa pack provided us with building pieces fitting the theme of that region.

NA animal pack - Twilight pack. This one is more of a stretch since the scenery for the Twilight pack is Europe focus, but three of the animals are iconic NA animals that were requested by many american players (granted the red fox also adds to Europe but the raccoon was the star of the pack not the fox).

Is not a very defined trend though and we are probably looking to much into it so i don't expect all packs to get another complementary pack but there at least 2 i would love to: SA pack and the Conservation pack. The latter could easily be followed by an endangered species animal pack but i'm not sure how SA could fit with anything other than jungles or rainforests or the like and we already got the Tropical pack (underwhelming as it was in that regard).

That said i think the safe bet is that the Arctic pack will get an animal pack counter part if they follow the current theme of biome focus DLCs since we are probably getting a cold animal pack.

Mountains and Temperate or even the cold theme could help expand SA animal roster but that will still leave out the rainforests.

(I may have gotten confused so please don't hate) I can see why but some animal packs already have scenery that matches, like the Australia pack. Since Oceania seems to really only include Australia (in Planet Zoo anyways, for the animals) I feel like that one would be a bit iffy. I would rather see some more themes of wild west or old town vibes as stated. If you meant animals from Oceania, there are quite a few though I feel like animals from strictly Europe and Oceania (Australia) could be beneficial if plans for continent strict zoos were wanted.

I would think more along the lines of an Oceania animal pack as the counterpart. Which contained things from new Zealand, new Guinea and the pacific.

So far I would agree with the following in terms of being linked together:

Aquatic - Wetlands
Southeast Asia - Tropical
Africa - Arid

As for the rest, I think we are going to get Temperate Scenery and Polar Animal as our final packs for the year. Temperate can link to North America in regards to scenery with a focus on Native American theming perhaps. Polar would obviously be linked to Arctic.

As for the rest of the packs, here are some ideas:

South America - Rainforests... I think Rainforests as a pack can still happen eventually considering how expansive it is as a biome the potential will always be there.
Australia - Islands... Tassie Devil and Echidna can fit in here plus other Oceanian species.
Europe - Mountains... European scenery takes a lot of influence from Central Europe and the Alps region so I think more Alpine species would go with it well.
Conservation - Endangered Species... A solid call back to Zoo Tycoon as well as being an easy way to bring a bunch of community requests in.
Twilight - Nocturnal... There is still demand for quite a few Nocturnal species that I could see this working quite well.
Grasslands - Children's Farm???... This one is difficult, I guess since farms are on fields with grass it could work??? I think butterflies can also be associated with farms and I think wallabies and emus are kept in these farm-y enclosures sometimes at least 🤔

I'm not sure how much weight this "theory" holds but all of these would probably be solid pack ideas in their own right.

Those are some perfect fits 👌

Now i want all of those to happen.

Yes even sighs loudly farms.

Honestly if we get support in 2024 and the packs would be Farm, Rainforest, Islands and Mountains I think that would be incredible and answer most of what the community wants (well, except birds and aquariums of course lol)

Well actually all of them could give us at least habitat birds (and even flying birds for WTE)

Farm: waterfowl (swans, ducks, geese), galliformes (pheasants, guineafowls)
Rainforests: ibis, spoonbill and if we want to be optimistic macaws, toucans, hummingbirds and even eagles?
Islands: nene, black swan, victoria crowned pigeon, kiwi, nicobar pigeon, bali mynah, hornbills, eagles
Mountains: rhea, vultures, condors, eagles

I think, the Savannah pack would be better counterpart of the Grasslands animal pack.

I'd argue that the North America pack can be seen as a counter to the Arctic pack. The North America DLC contains two non-exclusively American arctic species (moose and arctic fox), while the Arctic pack contains one non-exclusively arctic American species (Dall sheep) and all of its species live in North America.

The Twilight pack can also be seen as a counter to North America, although the scenery is European. Three of its species live in North America and are even extremely common there.

Grasslands seem to be split between South America (two habitat animals, one exhibit species and a scenario) and Australia (also two habitat species). Yes it also has African species but that's to be expected from non-regional packs.

People often forget Central America is technically part of North America so it would fit the sequel theme perfectly to have a Central America Scenery Pack paired with a North American Animal Pack.

I agreed with the African leopard part. I'm glad you ask that.
