Hmmm, Peter Cushing never actually played The Doctor, he played a character called Doctor Who...

But, they were great films for their time and they did have daleks in...

there was meant to be a story at some point that would tie Peter cushing into the doctor who universe, but for argument sake he was called doctor who and he did have a TARDIS and he did fight and defeat the Daleks.

what more do you want.

Surely I can't be the only one who preferres Ecclestone and Smith over Tennant as far as the new doctors go.

For me (and probably most people) how much you enjoy Dr Who depends greatly on how much you like the current incarnation of the Dr. Sadly for me I think Matt Smith blows. :p

Ahem, that was even in reply to your post. :p

I wouldn't go as far as saying he blows but I think he is better than Christopher Eccleston, though I will give Chris a +1 for reintroducing Dr Who back into the 21st centaury.

I actually thought Eccleston was great as the Dr. Would've loved to have seen more than one season of him.

THE Captains

I know there are a couple of other captains on the Enterprise, but they aint mentioned in the Films or TV.
also not including alternate universe.

Valen went after the wrong space station...

Just goes to show that bigger is not always better.. Now if the empire had stuck to the original plans and not tried to build a bigger Death Star it would have been completed in RotJ, and we could have seen a test firing on Endor........ Then we'd have been spared those terrible Ewok movies.

Now to add to the conversation, Farscape!

How could any of you forget that one. It had the stupidity of Lexx, the drama of B5 and the characters of Star Trek. The best Sci Fi of the last 20 years.

For mass consumption Sci Fi, Stargate did pretty well. I was really begining to enjoy SGU and the 2nd half of season 2 was some of the best SG. Then the "syfy" channel canned it. Though how they can be called "Syfy" boggles the mind, since reality TV and wrestling shows really don't belong in a Sci Fi channel. That being said new program this April:

Defiance. Seems they are launching an MMO with the same title.

Other decent Sci Fi:

Falling Skies. Is actually a pretty decent survival Sci Fi programme. Season 3 looks like it could be a hum dinger.

LOVE fallen Skies, and I had all the Deluxe box sets of Farscape..

It was the 20th Century bloke in the futuristic setting that was captivating, and Scorpious... Only downside... puppets!!

Also coming soon Continuum Future cop blown back in time with future terrorists, and Re-Volution (re evolution) where all the power cuts off FOR EVER.

Both reasonable attempts.. good bits......bad bits.. and some poor poor bits.
