Science Based Modules and Increased Module Functionality

So just a quick note at the moment going to run this by my faction for more input however it occurred to us the other night that it might be a fun and interesting idea to see more science based modules put into the game. Be able to pull different levels of data from stars and plants maybe even land on a planet and take core samples. Again will be posting a better break down of what we are talking about however for the time being I wanted to give the community an opportunity to weigh in on the subject and begin the conversation.
 
There was this concept art thing on reddit and imgur a while ago that got a lot of support. But I agree with you a game this big with such a good galaxy engine needs more science for players to do, as said in another suggestion "theres more to do than pew pew"
