To me, having to wait for my sensors to scan a planet when aiming at it used to be the most boring part of exploration.
The revamped DSS helped a lot. It's a good tool. But now with SCO, I can punch that thing basically whenever enough that I can careen around inside a starsystem at wildly inappropriate speeds, buzzing by uncharted worlds so close that my ship's sensors autoresolve them without even needing a scan - and never drop even near below lightspeed before I hit the SCO again and am off to the next planet.
It's a blast.
