Scoop helper interface NOT working! Need help, please.

Hi. Do anyone has this issue:
I have my cargo scoop deployed. The floating cargo is right in front of my ship. But it doesn't show on the scoop helper interface monitor(the small monitor at left-bottom of the screen). So it's almost impossible for me to collect cargo.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Could be that the fragment (indite) is not a canister.

Edit: sees that you replied with has a refinery... processing bins full?

Have you scooped anything before? The cargo scoop is on the underside of your ship. Something "directly in front" of your ship is too high for your cargo scoop to catch.

Lift your nose up, and you should see it on the scoop monitor.

Thank you for your advice. I try as center as I can. Still not showing in the monitor.

Your aim is off. In that screenshot, the canister is probably down and to the right of where you're pointed at, possibly just to the right, and far enough off-center to be out of view of the scoop helper, which has a very narrow field of vision. You need to be pointed slightly above the canister but NOT off to the right or to the left in order to center it in the scoop helper.

I scooped once by accident. I couldn't see anything on the monitor, so I keep hitting the cargo. Util it come into my ship. But it only happened once. The speed helper is still working. If I go too fast towards to the cargo. The outline of the monitor will show red.

The people who are saying your aim is off are right.

I just checked and took an example screen for you.

Your fragment is at 69m in the last screen you posted. You can't see it on the scope because you're aiming too low. At 69m it needs to be out of your direct sight, below your 'nose.' Like this (my canister is at 81m, I'm aiming much higher than you even though it's 12m farther away).

Try to picture your ship having a basket on the bottom, that you are using to 'catch' the fragment/canister. You always have to aim high. If you can't see the thing on your scooping scope, swing your nose around until you can. Only move when you can see it, and have it centered.

Thank you guys, for the advice. I appreciate it. But I'm still cannot see the cargo on the monitor. I tried all kinds of angle and distance. Is something wrong with my ship? I'm gonna post the screenshot of my ship:

Look at his screenshot, his nose is up. He is also off to the left however; it seems like he has mistaken that bright star dead-center in his screen for the canister, ignoring the target brackets. Either that or he's not quite sure where the center of his screen is. Either way, his scoop helper wasn't working because his aim was off far enough to put the canister out of its view.

Edit: Or fragment, same either way.

I really think that at that range the item should be out of your sight....with the item well below your ship.....

I tried 360 degrees. Call me crazy, I tried below my ship, under my ship, behind my ship. I got nothing on my monitor.
I have a screenshot of the "Mining Tutorial" video from youtube on the left. And my screenshot on the right. Just for compare.

It's not impossible for there to be a graphics glitch, but it does look like you're still pointing too high.

Try this; Back up until the fragment is about 900m away. At that distance, you should see it even if you're pointed a bit too low. If it still doesn't show, consider submitting a bug ticket.

For what it's worth, each ship has the cargo bay set a little differently. Some seem a lot lower than others.

Hey guys. Thank you for the helps. I found something very wired. I went to a station and bought some HYDROGEN FUELs for practice. When I around a station, the monitor works prefect fine. I can see the cargo on the monitor. I can collect the cargo easily.
However, when I went to resource extraction site. The monitor stop working. Completely no image on the monitor.
So, is there any restriction for using the scoop monitor?

I have no knowledge of a restriction, so it certainly sounds like a bug. I've never had the scoop not show me the item once I was pointed correctly.

As a workaround, you might consider giving collector drones a shot, since they make mining more bearable anyway. You'll need limpet drones to use it, which are purchased from the ammo menu in a station and take up a cargo space each. When you launch one, make sure you don't have anything selected and it will retrieve anything around you automatically until it expires.

Appears to be a glitch. I think I've seen it before but not certain.

Thank you, man! I will try the limpet drones.
