Screen Blink In-Game, Windows Cursor & Throttle Disable

Not quite sure the root cause of this so I need your help. I run ED sessions with both the DK2 and separately with my normal monitor when I need to give my eyes a break. I run the game full screen not windowed. Roughly every 20 mins or so I get screen blink in game, the Windows mouse cursor appears on screen in game and I lose my HOTAS throttle.

To remedy this I have to ALT TAB back to the Windows desktop, left click once on the ED exe from the Taskbar, at which point I am back in game without the cursor and with a responsive throttle control. This is mildly annoying particularly when I have the DK2 and headset attached!

Any ideas CMDRs?

Sounds like something in the background is causing Windows to momentarily lose focus from ED and that borks the mouse cursor. Does this happen when you are playing on the main monitor or the rift?

If you can't figure out the cause, this third party utility called Cursor Lock might work. http://www.snakebytestudios.com/projects/apps/cursor-lock/

I've had this issue in the past. Something would steal focus from whatever window I was in every few hours, including E - which led to me crashing into the side of a starport and losing a lot of valuable cargo when the HOTAS stopped responding <.<

I used this utility I got off a forum post about tracking down focus-stealing apps: http://www.happydroid.com/focus

You can just leave it in the background and it will show you what programs focus is switching to. As soon as this happens in-game again, you'll see it tell you what stole focus. In my case it was an updater for some dodgy middleware that something else had installed, so I just uninstalled that and it fixed the issue.
