Screen dims when entering Rescue Ship Cornwallis space, controls stop working, screen on then off

Flying with a pretty full load of passengers from Sol to Cornwallis in open play. When I exit supercruise the screen dims a lot. When I press the button for galaxy map the screen shows again, but hosas controls are dead. Keyboard controls work for a while but not the esc key. Screen then goes entirely black.
When I restart the game I am 20km away from Cornwallis.
In supercruise approaching Cornwallis I am in analysis mode and the planet has the blue analysed grid, even when switching to combat mode.

I just searched for "screen dims" on the issue tracker. I got 4999 pages returned, and the first page had nothing like that.

You're wasting your time with the tracker. Just contact Customer Support directly.
