Do you use any graphics mod? This planet looks a lot darker on my end.. Regardless, wonderful screenshots and epic sights!
No, just vanilla game shots. When you visit probably made the difference.

Decided to head out to Pomeche 2C as well
After quite a bit of dangerous flying, I have no idea how I found a spot I could land on. Totally awesome.
Nice to see that peoples love this planet .
And to answer your question, yes I use SweetFX with some custom settings I've made. I can give them to you if you want?
Anyways, I just got Horizons a few days ago.. And I'm loving it so far!
Man, I'm really saddened that the game can't run at 60 FPS with all settings maxed out anymore. At least, while I'm down on planets, of course. I really want those Ultra shadows back XD Wasted a good deal of time yesterday messing with the graphics and trying to improve performance.
I upgraded to a GTX 970 4GB partly because of this. Horizons was unplayable for me. Now? 200fps in space, about 60-100 planet-side. Everything on max, except for super-sampling which is on 1, and AA is off due to EDFX handling it for me.
If you can, I recommend you upgrade. It's *so* worth it.
And sure, that would be great!

Am just about to send my new ASUS 970 Strix back. Had it 3 weeks and have never had so many PC crashes which the dump file tells me are graphics card related. Running latest drivers. Tried various things but nothing aseems to help.
Back to my trusty 750TI Boost for now then.
Ah I would if I could xc But I got this laptop only about a year ago, so it's what I'll stick with for at least a while At the very least it's got a 970m, so... Just a tad bit behind the desktop version, or around the performance of a 960 I'd say?

You can see my several attempts to board my ship back. Don't look at the graphics too much I still have a 660TI I intend to switch for a 1070 when it comes out.
NotebookCheck rates it around the 680 actually; makes sense since my 760 couldn't go Horizons on full; mostly medium. :/
Here we go, you can find SweetFX and the install instructions on this thread if you haven't already.

Once installed replace the settings files with this one. Enjoy!
Really? Huh. I have a friend who just got a 960, and Horizons seems to run about the same as with me (Stutters and around 30 with ultra, less stutter on high and pretty fluid on medium). The game is still playable for me even on ultra, I just don't like playing below 50 FPS XD
It's entirely possible it is like the 960. I mean, I could be wrong, I was going off of what NotebookCheck said after all. Theoretical performance vs real-world performance is the only true test, imho.
lol, once you get that 60 sweet spot .. anything below it is an offence to your very being.
Ugh, it really is XD and I used to think people were too demanding when they games were playable to them only above 60 FPS. Now I totally agree x.x Right now with my current graphical options, it runs 50-60 FPS everywhere, except on really detailed terrain (Mountains, cliffs, etc) and cities/stations, where it'll drop to 40 FPS. Especially with headlights on. I tried lowering the resolution to 900p but the text gets pretty blurry :/ Not sure how to fix that.
Anyways, to avoid going entirely off-topic
