Newcomer / Intro Second Pilot?

Can I develop a second pilot (a complete beginner) completely separately from my current pilot; still maintaining my current pilot's successes; so I could return again to fly as my current pilot.
Sorry ...... need to say ...... all on a single account.
Thank you.

Thanks Meta'.
I'm on a personalized Notebook so a second pilot is then out of the question.:(
It's just that I've been away for a couple of years and need to re-learn all the basic things I've forgotten.
I just didn't want to lose my current status when I delete my current pilot. This was so as to create a new beginner pilot and re-start the tutorials.

Maybe I'll let my current experienced pilot re-do the tutorials ....... ?
It's "me" that has the problem remembering things, not the "pilot" ...... if you see what I mean ..... 😉

Welcome back :) Long time, no see.

You can play the tutorials from your right panel any time. No need to reset your current save.

Note that the "Docking Practice" one, which is definitely recommended, is hidden in the "Challenge Scenarios" section for some reason. There's also an SRV Practice one in there, for using the buggy on planet surfaces.

Yes ....... I've been away a long time. Too long. ;) Please don't be offended, but I've can only vaguely remember people and their names. :( It's just my age (81) and the associated loss of memory, but gratefully tests have shown it's not Alzheimer's. (y)
I should never have left ........ I realize how good it is here now that I'm back. 😌
It's got all I need: Solo play; neutral pilot option; huge explorer potential; super graphics; great sound; huge mapping potential; numerous ships to fly; ample opportunity to trade and earn money; and so much more. I'm going to have to work very hard to get back to the level I was at when I left (which was really nowhere), which I willing to do, even if I make a fool of myself in dong it. 😂
So Codger, your advice is just what I need. I do remember the "Docking Practice" hidden issue, but would never have known where to find it!
Thank you ....... and here I go .......... 😯

Welcome back to the Elite Galaxy commander @Wombat1940

Good to hear you're doing alright.

To help refresh your memory, below are some useful resources. In any case don't hesitate to ask questions here in the forum.

In-game help is available in the form of menu links to the Pilot's Handbook and the Codex (right-hand cockpit panel 1st tab).
For a very good beginner's guide see: An in-depth beginner’s guide to Elite: Dangerous.
Tutorials covering all aspects of the game, many of them in the form of YouTube videos, are available from ED Tutorials.
There is a wealth of useful information available in these forums spread out over hundreds of threads. Thanks to commander @Alec Turner you can access all of that information and more via a single thread: Alec's best of the forum (and elsewhere) [v2].
Here is a good guide on the background simulation (BGS) that simulates the economical and political changes caused by player actions in inhabited systems.
Also check out the inara.cz and eddb.io websites with (almost) realtime info on practically everything in the game.
The coriolis.io and edsy.org websites let you design your ships before buying them.
There are many more Tools and Websites created by fans that make life in the galaxy better.
And last but not least, the Elite Dangerous Wiki contains extensive information on nearly all aspects of the game.

Thanks Krieger. That's really nice ..... (y) I won't deny it: my absence has been due to suffering severe bouts of depression. Something I'm still wrestling with now. However, I'm determined to get on top of it (you never completely beat it), and my involvement here, and all your responses are a major help. I don't think I made any enemies here when I was here last, but if I did, please forgive me and let's make a fresh start. ;)

No, you certainly made no enemies here. I remember you were (and probably are) quite popular here. And not just because of your special status as the oldest commander known in the elite galaxy.

I hope your renewed involvement with the game will help beat depression. Setting a goal to work towards is always a good thing and Elite has plenty to offer in that respect.
