Secretary Bird or Grey-crowned Crane

I think part of the problem with the bird roster is the lack of choices among simple groups. I think a second crane would be nice to flesh out what we already have. A second flamingo would also help flesh out the existing waders, and I want to see the black swan and big 3 ducks to flesh out waterfowl.

The secretary bird is unique, is impressive, and carries a bit of nostalgia for me, so I wouldn't be too upset if we got that one instead. I really hope there is room for both.
Yeah, it is a shame. Like if I want to use a flamingo or crane, I have just one option, meanwhile I can pick between 3 rhinos, 3 foxes etc. Only well represented birds are ratites and penguins.

Very much the crane for me. While the secretary bird is perhaps more novel, I associate it with aviaries and don't need it without other common aviary species. Grey crowned cranes are more common in the zoos I've visited and fit perfectly in open exhibits like African savannahs.

Team Grey-Crowned Crane here - I feel it’s far more common and synonymous with being a common zoo animal.

Secretary bird is more niche and obscure and imo, the only reason it has the traction it does is because it’s a ZT2 legacy animal and people are desperate for more birds.

It has far more reasons, and most people want Secretary bird, just not the people vocal on this forum, they always want to re-create their own zoo for some reason, and want realism, well we in Blijdorp have Secretary Birds, so it's not impossible, They are a lot more awesome than crane#2
