I'm at that obligatory mid-life crisis in ED!
I have a fully loaded Vulture, and Asp X if I want it (it's heavily armed but configured for cargo). It survives fights and kills NPCs when interdicted.
Here are the two ships as they are presently configured:
Asp X (cargo, armed): https://coriolis.io/outfit/asp/0pftiFflidfsnf527270p0p202004040403054a2tf3020101.Iw18WQ==.Aw18WQ==
Vulture (it's a Vulture!): https://coriolis.io/outfit/vulture/2patfFalddksif30v7l0403--4a35272525.Iw19kA==.IwBhrSvSg===
If I want to kill things, I have to fly back to where the Vulture is stored - no problem. If I want to go somewhere to kill things, that gets a liiiiiiittle more interesting due to the non-existent range of the Vulture (hence the fuel scoop!).
To my dilemma...
To trade both ships for a Python: https://coriolis.io/outfit/python/0...34i3ff6040403v62i2f.Iw18eQ==.MwBhCYy6EYayVQiA
After trade-in I would have a cool 101 M credits, so I think the bank says OK.The problem is whether it is a good idea? Would I miss the Vulture?? I have a blast with it (pun most definitely intended) that's for sure!
Is the Python a capable hunting machine OR, like the Asp, is it more for defense than offense? The Asp can be awkward if you're not paying attention, but against NPCs it does OK (even if they are more maneuverable). I know I wouldn't deliberately go looking for trouble in the Asp.
I like the multi-role, go-anywhere capability of the Python. I'm also aware that multi-role has limitations. I like the fact it could be configured to haul a lot more than the Asp can take, so doing more trade to build the bank balance afterwards would not be out of the question.
I'm torn between keeping the AspX and Vulture, or selling both and getting the Python. I would like to go explore for a bit, and whilst the AspX has good single-jump range, the Python is kicking its (on paper) for overall range vs. payload.
Hmm.

If it were me, I'd keep at least one so when the inevitable happens you aren't flying the sidey...
