Selling metals at Yembo

Of course we're cool and I'm sorry if my response seemed sharp. It wasn't intended to.

Yes, I see your point and it does make it interesting. You've convinced me. :) I'm heading over to CD-51 102 at the moment to pick up a Clipper which I'll fit out with cargo bays to make longer hauls more useful than the 90 tons I can manage in my Asp.

WOW - now if I can just convince CMDR <snip> to stop griefing players over at Leesti my work here will be done. :D

OK, imagine this - the supply of metals at Wonneriti appears to be running down (the price is certainly going up compared to galactic average). That in itself is really interesting - it's the first time I've seen real evidence of player actions having an actual effect (and that in itself really excites me - don't get me wrong, I like killing pirates but ultimately does it make any difference, does the game care?). So, wouldn't it be cool if all the nearby stations ran out of metal altogether and the only way to fulfill the demand at Yembo was to either bring metal from a long way away or else to mine it. An actual in-game need to mine! Personally I think that would be a brilliant bit of emergent game play.

I'm not sure it will happen this time around but I'm sure FD are learning from this first one and will be using things like this to fine tune these community goals in the future.

I hope we're cool - I didn't intend to attack your gameplay personally.

Has Wonneriti run out then? I guess you just need to filter your galaxy map for extraction and refinery systems and look elsewhere. Good hunting (and leave some for me).

Well summed up. I hope this does start to prove that large amounts of players making concerted efforts towards one goal will have cause and effect elsewhere. I'm excited to see this happen.

Hmmm... I think the only thing I can get rid of in order to fit a fuel scoop would be the Basic Discovery Scanner. Everything else on the Eagle is quite essential to the running of it.

I wish they made these ships so you could kit them out a bit more! lol

irt Traffic Report

It count's any player going through system, each time. So in a remote system, if you passthrough a system 10 times, and no one else does, the traffic report will say 10

afaik that's how it was lat time I looked.

the universe IS alive

I'm very much a noob at ED but one noticeable thing was how empty the universe felt (its a large place). I think its great that these community goals provide a reason for players to head to the same system.

So I came back after a 2000Ly round trip exploration in my cobra, jumped in to my type 6 and then headed over to have a quick look at how community goals were panning out in live.... Wow it's busy!!!

I am in Australia, so I play on the other side of the clock to a lot of players, there are less of us Aussies, so often seeing another player is an event in and of itself!! However, Yembo was teaming with players... so much so that I forgot to ask for docking permission at Yembo and nearly got myself blown up on my second run!!! Imagine my embarassement with all those players whatching. Apologies to the Cobra pilot I prolly scared witless boosting out the slot between him and a dropship..... I was in fully control, honest... (nose growing lol).

The goal for FD as far as I recall it was to have a reason to bring players together into an area. It's early days and we could be in novelty value territory, but so far it's working a treat. Now, when we get wings, I can see reasons to group up (fighters to protect traders from pirates etc). So, if you happen to be reading this FD, my only question is, if you are in a wing, do you share rewards? I ask because I can see the next round of negativity now on these forums:
1. We made a wing of a type 9 and 2 vipers.
2. We all signed up to the community goal.
3. Viper took out several pirates on a run of palladium.
4. Our group was the top contributing contractor.
5. Only the type 9 pilot got the rewards and the cap ship got named after his pet goat... I wanted named after my goldfish!!!

Ok, the naming thing is easily solved by the group themselves, but the rewards less so.

Anyway, for now this is fun and I actually got sweaty hands freaking out that I was going to get pirated!!! Great fun!!!

When wings/alliances were discussed in the DDF topics the rewards (and punishments) were shared by all players in the wing.
