Sensei answers FA-Off challenge

Seriously though, cracking flying to all in that post.
I still wanna see you land a Beluga in a station though.

Money/Mouth?
Call it curiosity.

What's this? Land a Beluga FA Off? I'm sure we can do better than that.

rushes off to buy his first Beluga

Thanks for giving me an excuse to buy another new ship, I've genuinely never owned a Beluga (iirc) so it's a rare treat to have a brand new cockpit to look around - it's huge!

Perhaps foolishly I bought it at Jameson Memorial which meant there were plenty of other commanders around to witness me getting firmly wedged in the mailslot on my very first station departure. I came very close to having the station clear the slot with extreme prejudice but luckily a combination of wiggling, boosting and toggling the landing gear finally got me loose and away. I decided to head for Garay Terminal (scene of the OP's video), mostly 'cos I couldn't be bothered to trek all the way back to Artemis Lodge again.

So firstly, let's have a go at that trench.

OK, so I wasn't able to move along the trench ... but I got in! I'm counting that as a win.

And now for that FA Off landing we spoke about.

Tada!

Well Op that's a nice starting point for sure.

Full FA OFF in every game activity with every ship available is, however, another thing.
I switched to FA OFF more than one year ago and to this day there are some things i can't do.
And i'm not talking about fancy acrobatics with small ships.

To me the most difficult fa off activity is landing on a planetary outpost in >2G enviroment with anything bigger than a small ship, without taking any risk.

I can sometimes pull that off in a Krait, but in a loaded T9...... that's impossible to me.

And even when tossing around a T9 i do anything fa off with it, apart from that.

You: "Please, trench, please, please..."
Trench: "YOU ARE DENIED!"

But the landing was good, mate!

I'm honestly surprised you actually got it inside at all. I'd definitely call that a win. It's crazy how small it looks and feels but there's actually much more room than you'd think.

My long term goal is to become well enough at FA OFF that I can use it effectively in combat. That's why I started training in this because I've hit a hard ceiling in pvp and AX combat and after some soul searching I've come to the conclusion that I cannot grow in those areas until I've masterd fa off. That being said I don't think I'd really want to go full 100% fa off; but at the same time if you told me 2 years ago I'd be doing trench runs I would have laughed at you.

High G landings are hard in any ship even with flight assist. Im surprised you can land in any gravity with fa off. Lol

Absolute class Alec, brilliant thank you.

Very persistent with the Channel, bit of lateral thinking.

If you pulled that spin move off in the first take I am uninstalling Elite as I am not worthy :)

To each his own of course. But to me any activity in ED is so much better in Fa off. I would not limit myself to combat only.

God speed on you training :)
