Has it fixed the disappearing missions bug which leaves you with a cargo hold full of unmovable goods and then a fine (plus more when scanned by SA ships if you can't unload the now hot goods?)
 
still getting fps drops around planets/stars that are not in cores systems and also fps drops when going into supercruise..hope this helps with feedback.The Systems I am currently in are Wolf 497/427 and Mufrid.Also system map was taking a long time b4 and now its even longer Im afraid to say..

That is due to the new high resolution of the textures and details on the planets. Its a graphical performance issue not a network issue.

I doubt that very much, many of us have high end systems. If it was a GPU issue we would see stuttering all the time. It only happens in SC, in normal space everything is silky smooth. The devs have confirmed they are looking into it

Have you read the post about the XML and the graphics settings? Possible.. maybe they thought it was graphics initially but it was network related all along. Who knows.

2 attempts to get in, 2 CTD's on the spinning ship screen. attempt 3 coming as soon as the crash report is sent :(

Attempts 4,5,6 CTD on spinning ship screen. Not funny now.

Did you first crash out while equipping your ship?
If so, it is maybe the same problem that i had with the dropship.
I got it fixed by clearing my save and getting reimbursed my credits.
Of course i cleared after doing a bugreport and mailing support making sure there is a way to get my 129 million back ;)

Yes, and it doesn't work for many. As mentioned, my machine is an absolute beast, and it is streamlined. ED at any other time works flawlessly maxed, just like all the other sims I run. The stuttering goes deeper then just GPU load, something is buggy with the code.

my ship has been docked in station since i last played last night. I just cant get in since they did the server update. CTD's every time on the ship spinning screen.
 
Before the Update i was getting the FPS lag in SC and especially during interdiction near my destinations..

after the update i was getting similar though not as much.

then i updated my gfx driver to GeForce Game Ready Driver V344.60 (wich just came out) and its still a little jittery but tollerable .
 
Absolutely, not tested yet but since Beta 3 solo play has become much laggier. Going into a jump is so stuttering it is horrible. Supercruise can have horrible juddering and yesterday I got about a 5 second freeze in supercruise not even close to a planet.
The network code is dreadful to be honest. I hope they can get it fixed for release but just one more reason the game needed more development time and at least 1 more major beta update.

Was the same for me. Spinning ship for 3 to 5 seconds then CTD. :(
That's why i asked.
Similar happened in B1 (i think) to all Cobra pilots after some update. So i thought it might be ship related.
 
I just flew around some planets with no stutter! CONTINUING TO TEST! THANKS FRONTIER!

The question is - Did this update even address the stuttering?? It say's 'performance fix for busy server' That doesn't sound like anything to do with the issue.. More like disconnects etc when the servers are under load.
 
Have to try this when I get home. I haven't seen the stuttering issue near planets at all in Beta 3, though jumping to witchspace sometimes does. I have seen a brief pause of around two seconds when on final approach to my destination (about the point where, if you're approached a moon around a gas giant, the orbit lines start to expand into view) My machine's CPU and mobo are nearly six years old, 3Ghz Intel Quad Core and 4Gb RAM plus an AMD 7870 fitted a couple of years back when the old gfx card blew.

I logged in and flew from Asellus (lots of CMDRs), to Ross 1015 (1 CMDR), to Ross 490 (all by my lonesome). In all 3 systems it stuttered massively close to planets. I think this update had more to do with the frequent disconnects etc.

Actually this is a valid point.. DEVS!! could we get some clarification on what it is you addresed.. you asked us to let you know if it made a difference but not knowing what changes were employed makes it a tad vague for us to know what to look for to report back on!

Yep, it doesn't work.

I ticketed one system where it occurs constantly, likely long after PG has completed (which the XML tweak, er, tweaks).

Edit: server update didn't fix it for me, trying NVIDIA drivers that just came out.
Edit: nope, that didn't work either.

This sounds correct, likely the 'unable to connect to server' dumps to the menu have been addressed.
 
Seems to have fixed 'launch freeze' , 'enter hangar freeze' and 'disappearing missions' for me.
Stuttering in SC and frame-rate drop do not seem to be improved but great work.

Guess it's not fixed after all.
'disappearing missions' are still happening, but not as often.
'launch freeze' and 'enter hangar freeze' still happening.
