isn't a beta phase supposed to identify these problems so you can sort them out before the Update goes live?
While the Update delivers some excellent improvements, if it can't be played - what is the point?
Poor showing, Frontier.

There's a lot you can do in a beta, but there's one thing you can never do, and that's test with a full live load on the game, so if it's a networking issue to do with some of the new stuff that was always going to make itself known after it went live unfortunataly. They did some work on the networking I believe, and that's hard to test in a limited load scenario.

If it helps FDEV to know, have seen mostly smooth sailing on PS4 today, yesterday's hiccups having mostly been resolved, but cannot do anything on PC side except run the launcher.

Brisbane Australia is down with no or empty response from server

Good evening Commanders,

Thoughout the evening we have seen reports of players being unable to log on to the Elite Dangerous servers, and our teams have been tirelessly investigating and working to rectify this.

Within the last half an hour we've seen reports of players entering the game, however we will continue to carefully monitor the situation and stabilise the servers.

Thank you for your patience at this time, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience!

as soon as I try and log on it simply says "No or empty response from server : The operation has timed out.

I tried on launch night, here in Lancashire, England on my laptop, from 7pm - 1030pm, when I finally gave up. The best I got from at least 30 attempts to log into the game was two views from my cockpit, then hit SC, then stuck there until I tasked out of the game.

(BTW, the ISSUES DETECTED message on the launcher has been showing since this update hit & Iv never seen it any different).

I tried again on Wednesday morning & got on without any issues. I then had a good session from around 1200hrs - 2000hrs, no connection issues at all, until 2000hrs.

I was out exploring then was noticing names on my friends list going offline one by one quite quickly, I was jumping to another system, saying to my wife 'Oh dear, my friends are getting kicked, I think I'm next, then BAMM!...gone.

Maybe that's it! if I delete my friends on the list, then it'll let me play.......but then I'll have no friends to play with!!

I only tried a couple times then to log back in, I really wasn't gonna spend another 3 hours ing around trying to get into the game like Tuesday night, so I logged off.

Looks like the game's only suitable to play in the UK, when the rest of the player base is working or sleeping. Glad my forced early retirement payed off!

i cant play the game

it says that the serves issues detected. it has been 2 days since the update release and i cant get into the game..
what should i do?
and im playing at the pc

Hello!!

There is some issues to connect to the server from my country, Argentina. You need to try a couple of times to connect, and when you are ingame, the Missions Panel and the System Map are very slow to respond.
We have not even dare to try wings or multicrew, wich btw, are almost always a painstaking procedure plenty of faults.

S!

Was just palying but got the message that the servers are going to be offline for maintenance. Think they are working on the fix

Scheduled maintenance time is every Thursday morning, so might be just the regular maintenance window. Hopefully some fixes to server stability too though

I must say that in ALL the previous updates that FD have put out for ED, I have always had no problems logging into the game after the update.....but this one!!!!

What's different this time FD?....volume of players wanting to play?

Why wasn't this issue addressed at the pre-launch meeting that you guys must have had??

Surely someone must have said "Hey, will we have enough capacity to handle the greater numbers of punters suddenly wanting to play? After all, we've been hyping this update for 12 months!"
