servers down already?

You would think that they would be able to predict and cope with launch day numbers by now... Every. Single. Update... they fail to provision the necessary resources. Come on people, this is what AWS is designed for.

Does anyone have a problem with the graphics? Odyssey appears with all blocky textures (tutorial) when my PC was able to previously run Elite on Ultra

How check it, when you played maybe maximum 5 minutes in last 2 hours. Non stop crashes, logouts etc.

Well i had no "blocky" textures during the tutorial - also pushed all to ultra (didn't changed settings for years) but remeber: Engine got an upgrade - so some FPS loss could happen at all. But i also went from constant 144FPS to something between 80 and (worst case i've seen so far) 21 FPS in docking bay standing before my Defender.

Seems maybe obvious but running latest available drivers? 🤷‍♂️

So basically they either didn't spin up enough capacity to handle the load (which they know about since they have sales data) or their backend is not well designed enough to dynamically spin up/down capacity in any kind of reasonable time frame.

Granted, they probably do have a lot of things that have to be stateful - which does make dynamic scaling more difficult.
