I know its just a minor issue but I think it would be great if we had the option to set the clock to whatever time zone we live in.

I wouldn't trust them with it.
This has been asked for on numerous occasions. The simple answer is "No". The complicated answer is "No, because how would Players from around the World know when to meet up?". Even if Players are in the same country there can be several hours difference (such as EST and PST in the USA). By using a standard, internationally recognised clock (GMT) it should allow Players to meet up with one less confusing factor.
Could always have 2 times shown, local time and GMT. Or a way to toggle between the two. That way people could see their local time but still have the benefit of having GMT time to get together with fellow players.

^^^^^^ This. Ask any pilot. Local time is nice but when you fly from Florida to Alabama you cross time zones and the local clock changes. Russia has 13 time zones. Best to use ONE clock that everyone is synched-to for all the obvious reasons.
