Settlement Defense Plans?

Anyone know where to obtain these from?
I have Settlement Assault Plans - but that's not the correct material to unlock the Engineer.

I have been playing the game in a variety of ways - missions and random raids, etc and so far never even seen one. I'm a completionist, so when I go into a settlement I take everything (including the copper pipes and kitchen sink).

I got one from security dataport, very hard to come by in my view. Astro goes to an Irregular Marker Threat level 1, 2 containers and a downed skimmer , and there he relogs many times and gets the defence plans very effectively. (He plays the game in a broken way and the game is broken with bugs hehe I'm sure you are not meant to do the exploits and relog like that - anyway, I will do the same if I only find an IM threat 1 like that)

I'm in the same boat as you.
I've posted about it here, Sally has seen it, and is aware.
I'm going to check some of the spawn rates, and try military economies, then I'll probably relog.

I wouldn't restrict yourself to Military - I have more from Ind / High tech / Extraction locations. just needs to be a Sec port

You'll end up relogging though, the drop rate is very low. I did get 3 from one Sec port once .. wish I'd taken a pic ...

Gotcha.
I need to do the 6 covert heist missions, I might do that first, and see where those missions take me. I might pick a few up on the way,,

unobtanium. I've been raiding, doing missions, etc for literally months and never seen a single one. Nice of them to keep the tradition of making simple upgrades like.... buying a scope from Cabella's and sticking it on your rifle into a Epic Quest of the (non-existant) Golden Frog.

I'm doing an IM relog because I need some of that range of data. Lots of Ballistic Data and Patrol Routes, the occasional Man Ins is going to the next Suit upgrade. Picking up the SDP is just a sickness now.

It's also possible to find "Digital Espionage" missions, to download SDP from settlement data port. Of course, once when you have it, abandon mission.
Once I had such a mission to download it from Agricultural Data Port! :ROFLMAO: And it was there! Militant Plants:ROFLMAO:

Playing the game normally (no grinding) I got 0 SDP and 3 opinion polls so far. RNG unlock requirements must have been the idea if a lobotomized gorilla. No sane game designer could think it is fun gameplay in 2021.
