Settlement Raid Tip off update

Now that the place fires at you the moment you get close, (My Engineered Shields shrug it off despite more placements.) How in the world are you expected to solo a larger group that already entirely know where you are? What are the strategies to avoid the Goliaths, etc. The moment I step out. I'm basically dead. Coming in from afar causes a Goliath to quickly destroy my SRV. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yeah, even with SRV you can't just park right in the middle of them. I tend to stand off and pick them off, move behind a rock if i need to, shields on maximum. And of course with the wonky SRV controls in Odyssey it's made that much more difficult.

I had a hell of a time trying to deal with the Goliath on approach. I was firing at it, but it was slightly glitched, so my targeting reticule was missing unless I untargeted it. Barely did any damage even when its shields were down, If the goliath wasn't there, this would be way easier.

Perhaps Goliaths are meant to be dealt with on approach from ship?

are you able to target them while in your ship? That would solve that, but that would then also imply you can only do these things in a heavily engineered ship, as the newly added extra emplacements would make surviving in all the anti-ship defenses all the harder while trying to take down a Goliath, which is fine, but considering the tip off is completely randomly triggered, It seems a bit overkill, where people who can't manage that, getting a random tip off making them have to abandon the mission entirely.

This game is something else.

For heavily defended places with Goliath, I just land far enough, use the SRV to close in, then do the last couple km on foot. With improved jump assist, it's not that bad as you maintain sprint speed pretty much indefinitely. Hostiles don't seem to detect you from a distance, the goliath doesn't aggro on you either (but it will nuke your SRV from far away), so you can get in and get to work. Obviously, beelining the alarm controls is the first priority.

And after you kill everyone and disable every defense, don't forget to dumbfire the goliath before leaving, as a payback for the extra effort!

Ahh. I see. The Goliath Cannot attack you on foot then? That pretty much helps perfectly. Thanks!

Tips for "tipped off" missions (pre-patch 6, too much bugs killed my session earlier to check it now):

1. Settlement will get alerted if ship enters 2km radius or fire weapons on settlement.
2. Settlement will get alerted if SRV enters 400m radius or fire weapon on settlement.
3. NPCs are immediately hostile and head to your position if they are in the bellow half of your last scanner circle and have line of sight. They will also start alarm triggering if they do that.
4. Skimmers, Goliaths and turrets will attack you or your vehicles if alarms are turned on.
5. Authority vessels will attack your SRV as soon as you board it if alarms were turned on or you have bounty.
6. Authority vessels will attack your ship even unmanned if alarms were on or you have bounty.

*turning alarms off prevent hostile actions from turrets, authority vessels and defense drones but ships will still attack your SRV if you board it or your ship as soon as it enters the instance if alarms were triggered before disabled.

Hint:
The only way I've done this safely is by landing 2km away and dismiss ship. Then aproach settlement on foot and cleaning guards and NPCs around CMD (alarms panel) building and getting access level to rush in. Killing anything that tries to trigger alarms before I disable them. After this I just casually finish remaining NPCs and recall my ship.

Hint for the case when alarms were triggered:
Enter building to avoid attacks by drones. Kill zergling swarm and get access level to disable alarms and turrets. Drones will not attack you if you haven't attacked them if alarms are off. But you can kill them just to be safe. They are harmless for Maverick G5 shields. If there are ships above they will attack your ship on sight or Apex if boarded. If you do not want to fail the mission make 3+ km on foot to trigger "leave settlement" objective and then take your chances or try to reset instance by the well known relog. (relog will not help you if you have local bounty but at least the mission will be completed not failed)

P. S. Way too much effort for the usual payouts of those missions.

Yeah. Def not worth the time spent for sure, Just doing it right now for variety sake though. Probably wouldn't use this to grind literally anything. Haha. Thanks for all the helpful info!

o_O that sounds like an awful lot of hard work...

Come in real close to the ground behind buildings to block line of sight of the turrets, land right next to the settlement, get out, dismiss ship?
