I just don't buy them. I don't complain that others do.
ok, suit yourself. I do because I feel sorry for the degradation of content quality in this game I like.

I did not buy the kit. I see also Stigbob had his post with the photo of a tissue to make fun of me moderated. I guess most of the community is happy with these low standards.
Stigbobs tissue post did get moderated. Well I have to admit i may have been wrong recently on the moderation here then
On topic it’s still not a problem because no one is requesting frontier roll over and die, it’s about putting the best into the game, and wishing the best on something isn’t bad.
Both getting angry and excusing junk is equally counterproductive.
Ah Lestat, I remember you doing wrong assumptions in the past, I see you still waste bytes without pursuing knowledge first.
I did not buy the kit. I see also Stigbob posted a photo of a paper tissue box to make fun of me which was moderated. No doubt nowadays most of the community is happy with these low standards.
But being you a salt miner, I am not surprised.
By "normal" standards where do you think being upset about a video game ship kit fits in ?.
I hope you take some more time understanding what I want to say and less trying to make fun of people with different views.
I am upset about something I paid which does not fit normal standards for today's videogames and especially for what was promised during the kickstarter campaign.
You are not giving any solution. You are forcing yourself to low standards and contributing to the overall quality degradation of the game. Do I need to post children's comics like you do to be understood?
The true solution is making the ship kits integrated to the mesh of the ships and not juxtaposed as it is now, so that the shader looks good and the price for the cosmetic is justified.
And of course, being creative like during the kickstarter campaign avoiding too much copypaste.
On the community side, the solution is to point out to the devs that the content is not good enough.
I'm not sure this particular cosmetic featured in the kickstarter campaign. Cosmetics were always intended as an alternative monetization method to a subscription which I think is great as I don't see the point of buying them.
If you get the time check out kickstarters smallprint on the likelihood of change and what FDEV repeatedly said about "intend" and "would like to do" as opposed to promised.
No voting with your wallet is a perfectly acceptable solution to your problem. In fact its a tactic used all the time to enact change.
Just because you don't like the solution does not mean that it isn't a solution.
Customization was a big point during the kickstarter campaign. Many discussions about it are now lost so it is hard to find references. It is not about this particular kit, but look at the link in the OP. After seeing that page, are you really satisfied with what we have now?
This is an often rehashed argument, but one that completely fails. I'm pretty sure most of the artists responsible for the ship kits know zero about how to fix the programming problems and could not help at all. Likewise if they do their work fixing the art, it won't impede the work of the programmers fixing their part of the game at all.In terms of "problems the game has that need fixing" this is really low down on the list. I'd rather the devs used their time to fix some of the more glaring issues with gameplay.
Yep I'm very satisfied with ED as a product, easily the best video game I've ever played and great value for money.
In that post you linked they talk about ship customization and how it would change ship performance alongside the cosmetic alteration, which became cosmetic only over time to avoid pay2win as a result of player feedback. A good move on their part I think.
They also retained ship customization via engineers so they delivered everything spoken about there after tweaking it in a way I and the majority of the players approved of.
An all round win really. They get extra cash we get to customize our ships without a subscription and the people who are bothered can buy cosmetics.
You are satisfied with sloppy model geometry, I am not, since we do not have much depth in gameplay areas and must also rely on ship pimping to get some enjoyment from the game. In the link I see a lot better work in modeling the meshes. I was expecting to see the ship change when I change modules for instance. I want more customization, not glued triangles.
