Naming and shaming other commanders isn't allowed on the forums - even when done with the purest motives, it usually causes more harm than good. The blame game obscures a real argument, a bystander with a similar name gets unwanted attention, a griefer takes it as a badge of honour, or something else equally unpleasant.
But more and more people have valuable multiplayer stories which could accidentally shame another commander. So the mod team put our heads together and came up with the idea of stories where "only the names have been changed to protect the innocent". We're suggesting the community try this as a way to talk about your experiences without giving us more work to do. Some ground rules before we start:

- This is an experiment! We might have to change or abandon this if it doesn't work out, so please subscribe to the thread for updates
- This thread provides one technique for you guys to avoid innocent mistakes. We will still give infractions to people that work around the rules, e.g. by hinting at the actual names behind pseudonyms
- Posts still need to remain polite and respectful towards other forumites. Inflammatory posts about pseudonymous commanders will still get infractions
- The mods always judge naming and shaming on a case-by-case basis, so if a better approach works for you, please use it!
- If you suggest specific names, please use "CMDR (blank) Jameson" and make their descriptions as short and general as possible (five words max)

- CMDR J. Jonah Jameson - a player who hung back and recorded events
- CMDR Acoustic Jameson - a player you suspect of logging off to avoid battle
- CMDR Jesse Jameson - a flat out murderer
