Community Event / Creation Shared Online Pilot Logs

My notepad is getting hard to read, and even harder to find things. I find it useful to record what I find at various stations (terrible when you find a great delivery deal on a BBS but can't remember where you found that cargo!)

Trading tools that do all the hard work are generally frowned on by FD, but I'd be happy with a system that just kept track of prices and availability that I've already seen. In case this doesn't come, and for a bit of fun I developed this online tool:-

The search and input fields all use Ajax to find the data as you type. Easiest to start with a search for a particular system and work from there.

At the moment it allows you to see other people's findings as well, but I may turn this off or give people the option.

Could also be used to crowd-source system jump data for routing purposes.

Feel free to try it out and I welcome comments and suggestions here.

Looking like a GREAT tool so far. I have registered and can't wait to test it. Does it have a way to track which system you are in, so next time you visit it you know you have been there already, or we have to enter everything manually ?
But again, thank you for the effrt people like you put into this game, to make it even more enjoyable ;)

I'd welcome the thoughts of other users on this - would you input commodity data more often if it was private to you ?

It's not really the private aspect of this that will annoy me, but more the fact to enter everything manually each time. At the end, you don't play the game any more and instead just spend your time typing things. I was soo happy when the ED OCR started to allow a faster page capture/add function, because I was almost at the edge to not use it any more. And I love providing accurate EDDN data, so other players and myself will have the best updated market prices when trading. Same apply to your tool. I am actually glad to have the shared data from all other CMDR (and share mine as well) and will use this functionality a lot if there was a way to enter such value faster. So far, I use those log tools for navigation history and note functionality.

Thank you again for your efforts though. ;)

Update 19th February 2016:

  • Added facility to record the ships held in a station's shipyard.

Other Recent Changes:

  • Stations now have an additional flag to show that they are a surface station.
  • "My Goals" tab is a simple way to note things you want to do and record the date you achieve them (handy to remember things like "Land on Arial in Sol system and see cliffs")
  • Icon for subtable links to reduce clutter on screen.

Initial Engineer Mods

Played around with several tools - many useful - but I wanted something I could track my own material searches. So I've added this inventory tool for now. I figure there's not much point in listing everything I have - just the ones I am searching for - so I haven't autocreated an entry for everything. By default, the materials are listed by type so that it's easy to update from your game inventory. However, once running, it's quite useful to click the 'Stock Ratio' header and sort by that.

Also altered the colour scheme so it's a bit easier on the eyes when playing.

Comments and suggestions for improvements welcome.

Blueprint Support

Added facility to add your own Blueprints and their components. Once entered, you can examine the components and the program will show you the amount of each component in your inventory. NB. it's too unwieldy to show every Blueprint or make them global. The idea is that you can easily keep track of a few upgrades you are chasing.

In the inventory section you can also define a required stock level. In the current update this need not be higher than one, but it's useful to have the option to set these to other numbers to reflect the number of rolls you want or the number of Blueprints you want to able to use.
