Newcomer / Intro Shield Boosters

I simply cannot believe how many materials are required if I want 6 shield boosters on my FDL! Someone is having a laugh! I guess there is no alternative and all commanders before me must have swallowed hard about this. Are they really necessary? (btw I think I may have asked this before but have searched and cannot find it).

I guess that HRP is the same or similar?

Do you do PvP? If you don't, you don't need more than two.

Yes. Build what is basically a small armed asteroid zipping around at 600m/s. THAT, I would call fun.

It is easy to push the limits of your power plant with shield boosters they are a bit greedy and the more you have the longer the shields take to recover, the speed is the same it is just the total strength is increased.

As others mentioned in your shields thread shields are weaker against some attacks than others if you engineer your boosters you can level that out as well as just increase the strength of your shield.
