Horizons Shield cells firing on their own? Help please...

If I have the shield cell module active the shield cells will fire off non-stop automatically until I'm out of ammo. I removed all the bindings and they are not in a fire group. An alarm also goes off and doesn't stop until I turn the module off.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Sounds like you have a stuck button / key some place.

That was my first suspicion, so I removed all bindings to the shield cells in controls and also removed the shield cell banks from the fire group. They still trigger automatically. I'm glad to hear its only me though and that it's probably a problem that can be fixed.

For posterity's sake, here's the solution. The cat had walked on the laptop and turned on Toggle Keys/Sticky keys which I have now deactivated completely. What was odd about the situation was that even though I removed the key bindings Elite wouldn't let go of them. I had to reboot the PC in order to clear out Elite's "key binding cache". So the solution is: turn off toggle and sticky keys, reboot the computer, then restart elite.
