Horizons Shield numerical value.

Fourth'd :)

Though it might get noticed by the devs more in the suggestions forum here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php/76-Suggestions-Feedback

EDIT: been thinking about this a bit more and I can see why the devs did not go with a % value display - if we had that then everyone would be able to perfectly time the firing of an SCB (i.e. when it was at 5% or whatever). You can argue whether or not there is any skill involved in timing this based on the ring display or if it's just down to luck.

I would also like to see a percentage readout on the main display. Having to press a button to view the percentage is not a good idea, especially while in battle situations. Far to busy concentrating on the attacking ship.

We have been asking about shield percentage since BEFORE the game was released. For now, no reaction from the dev, but we can still try and ask them for something so easy to add.

3 rings are okkei on small ships where shields are in very small numbers, but on big ships like Anaconda its a no brainer feature.

Shield percentage makes more sense than hull percentage. How is hull percentage even calculated - by the number of holes in it? I get why it's in there game play-wise, but if you're in a dingy in the middle of the ocean and Aquaman attacks you, your first mate isn't going to tell you you're at 75% hull. He's going to say there's a hole in the boat and we're sinking.

we are in space... we don't sink. <gd&r>

We have it already in Beta 2.2 if you press 3 you can see your % Shield and Hull
Look HERE

That certainly helps, but, at the risk of sounding inflexible, an 'at a glance' display would be preferable :)

Glug Glug lol

We already have a display - the 3 rings! When the last one disappears, you've been in the fight too long.

I would be interested to know if damage is linear or exponential though (i.e. do you lose the same shield strength at 100% as at 20% per hit?) or is a weaker shield more prone to damage?
