Ship Destroyed

After a week of travelling to the next waypoint I arrived this morning and landed only to be attacked and destroyed, losing about 100 million in descovery fees loads of first person descoveries and I have lost the lot. I really feel like packing this game up when this happens as I had no warning (I was landed) we were told to come here. I have no armaments as I am exploring. I wish I could do something but no doubt they wont listen really off, not only that but I am back in Omega mining 3000 lys away from where I was.

A off DD

Also, was it an NPC or player? There are a few psychotic NPCs at WP3, but only occasionally are they causing problems. This will affect all modes.

If it was a player in FleetComm, it should be reported to a FleetComm admin. If it was a player in Open, well... that happens.

Have you already re-bought?

we were told not to rebuy and open a ticket to support FDev, as the support at FDev can re-spawn you if things like this happen, but if you rebuy then your doomed as all the data in the forge will of been lost on the rebuy.

I killed you, you where just sat there and my T10 was looking for its next meal(shes a big girl), hell you didn't even try to take off. my suggestion next time is to fit some tank so you don't lose all that data...

I really can't see what you get out of this. I mean, seriously, there is no skill or achievement, not even any role-play scenario, you just destroy somone's enjoyment for what - nowt.

Well... seems that hull reinforcements save ship better than exploration data in its computer.

Maybe learn to keep your head on a swivel instead of in the sand and set your ship up to run. With all the crying about getting shot, it's funny that someone is shocked that they were blasted. I'm an Explorer / NPC pirate and have no problems setting up my exploration ships to run. Especially from a fracking slow space cow. And I've been yanked out of Supercruise many times returning in a ship not setup for combat. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

On a side note, I wonder how long before the Fleetcomm admins whitewash the whole thing by moving the thread to the PvP sub? Sorry OP, but you're concerns are soon to be sacrificed to the great hungry god of Political Correctness...which will be like getting eaten twice seeing as how Harry's already digesting you:)

Easiest way to avoid this OP is to play in a PG, not Open.

Given that you were in Open, after all the warnings and notices, you only have yourself to blame.

Good kill Potter.

was it anything along the lines of...

By any chance?

D'Oh, now it's going to be taken completely out of context...

Wow man, nice job throwing one of your fellow explorers under the bus for not being fortunate enough to be in a PG with you:)

Fleetcomm stopped accepting entrants shortly before the expedition began, as soon as it became apparent that there was going to be fireworks, so playing in Open is the only option if people want to see someone else out there and actually feel like they're part of an expedition.

Why are you continuing to spread these lies? It sounds like you're getting desperate to get more people to play in open play. Fleetcomm had thousands of applications to process and only one person to process them and only the pg owner could do it. If you'd bothered to actually READ the fleetcomm thread you'd know exactly why the pg was closed, and also know that its open again for people on the roster now that the guy processed the backlog. Do some research and stop your blatant lying and trolling.

As the post above illustrates the PG is open now as the backlog is caught up. Aside from that, everyone also has Solo available to use. OP gambled on surviving in Open, OP lost. No fault but their own.

"Lying and trolling" sounds pretty aggressive there, Rock. In fact, I think that it might have strayed into "ad hominem" territory.

A couple thoughts occur to me: the post you guys refer me to really doesn't say that anyone new has actually been accepted into Fleetcomm from the back end of the list, just sort of "If you don't want to wait go solo or Mobius" which really isn't the same thing. And whatever the reason for the delay a whole bunch of explorers who couldn't get into (or didn't know how to get in) were destroyed as a result. Like, well over 2000 at this point. You don't seem to care though and that's fine by me, I just think that it might be instructive to some on the fence to see who the real callous players are in this misadventure, because your attitude (and I would say Fleetcomms in general) seems to be quite clearly: if you fly in Open you deserve to be destroyed.
