Ship exploded for no reason.

Ship is coming up to launch, explodes as the docking claps are released. Not destroyed by the station, no lasers & it happens too quickly (unless that's changed?).

Can't see the hull percentage so my guess is it's on 1%, shieldess and some slight contact with the station (which shieldless cutters on autopilot do) was enough to destroy the ship.

Seems a bit odd that a Cmdr would depart without repairing the hull in that circumstance so I guess they did it on purpose for the video.

Gutamaya makes no implied or direct warranties for any ships fabricated by third party stations. Upon purchase you expressly assume all liability. Any insurance or sale guarantees or warranties are agreements soley between the entities making such agreements and the purchaser.

Gutamaya hereby orders you cease and desist in distributing this video without visual and audible disclaimers making it clear that Gutamaya is not responsible for the construction of this particular ship and the quality of the design is not implied to be at fault for this incident.

also, that explosion animation is kinda sad.

What do you think happened to the poor cmdr here?

Guess they were trying to make a point that Gutamaya is a crap manufacturer by departing a shield-less Cutter at below 1% hull from a station using auto-pilot (which is known to sometime graze the ship at launch or dock)

If I am not wrong, even when you bump at 0% hull and explode, you still get a few seconds of emergency warnings while your HUD shuts down.
In the video, the explosion is instantanaous, so my impression is that it was just a bug.

Global warming. It’s to blame for everything \o/

They had to change the name since the data didn't support global warming. You have to call it 'climate change' now, so that way no matter what happens, they can say "See? We told you it was going to change.".

For OP, I've had this happen three times, I think. If you look at the station, you'll see it's red. What happens is you get destroyed by the station as soon as you release from the landing pad. For no reason at all, the station turns hostile and there's nothing you can do about it. I've tried logging to Main Menu, logging to desktop and changing ships and none of those worked.

Each time it happened, I put in a ticket and FDev refunded the rebuy cost, gave me back my cartographic data and any lost cargo.

If you want to put your video into the issue tracker, let me know and I'll confirm it and add my ticket numbers.

While the cutter have a notoriously bad autodocking system, it seems to be a bug. The ship explode WAY too fast. When you are destroyed you have like 10s of losing UI and control before the boom.

Perhaps, in a fit of depression regarding the delay of Fleet Carrier interiors it couldn’t take life anymore and decided to blow itself up

Yeah, they age pretty quick, those cutters...

One a more serious note, what platform is it? The guy is missing an icon in his comms menu. Might be a connection annomaly or something. Anywho, typical case for support.

My 2 cents.
In years of playing I have seen many times NPCs ships exploding inside a station after take off.
No visible gunfire directed at them.
I always considered they were "terminated" by the station for some reasons, now after watching this, and it went exactly as I always saw the NPCs ships exploding, I am reconsidering those events.

Its answered in the thread topic on reddit..
Broken quick resume feature of xbox causes it...
The game does not run correctly and kills the ship on resume...

Many a console player turns these functions off as they have not worked correctly... Most online games boot the player...

People should make sure they DO quit the game after exit/ On XB this can be done from the home screen by pressing menu and then Quit
Simply exiting the game to home screen will not quit it.

What's the quick resume function? (Not console player here)

What's the quick resume function? (Not console player here)
It has two main features...
feature 1
On windows PC it would be called advanced suspend/ hibernate mode...
Instead of shutting down the computer and applications to complete reset state. It Pause every application. you Record the status of the Hole computer and every application... and then store that data... , then power off...

When you repower on every applications data is again put into the memory and displayed exactly were it was.. Zero progress is lost and you continue were you were... LOL many actualy fail and will not run correctly and servers will normal boot you as that session timed out (most old computer users now hibernation was invented due to how bad windows boot times were..)

feature 2 is application pause mode..
Every time you leave one application to run another the other application is paused in state and will not run...
Think of it as the reverse of multi tasking...
Instead of having 2 games running at the same time it allows you to jump from upto 4 games as the game is only paused not shut down... Each time you switch, the data used is moved from storage to memory...
So instead of having only 1 game that uses up all your 32GB PC memory open you have 4 games open but 3 of thoe games memory usage was actualy stored on your 4 TB SSD and when you resume any of the other games the 32GB is moved from storage back into memory and you play that game ....

Extra edit = but with consoles you not using a lot of memory like PC as the conosole memory is a lot less...
