Ship integrity in 1.3

That'll teach them traders to run! Pay yer taxes when due!

;)

Gee, contribute to putting an honest body repair mans daughter through school or let you tie one on with Onionhead...? Let me get back to you on that.

As for fuel and repair costs, put the prices half way between what they were in 1.1 and what they were in 1.2.

One other detail: on Starting, I did not get the usual "ip address + port" but instead got this:
Server 54804964953884 x 19 [54.247.33.72:19364] EDserver#459. NOT normal. Check yours.

I am thinking to do some experiments this weekend. Buy a Sidey, consider that I only have 1000cr to spend, and doing some "get these resources to X" missions to see if new players even have a chance with these kind of numbers. Will report back.

103K to repair 2% off my ship integrity with an FDL. Hmm.

edit: Going to keep an eye out for anything zany.

Well, I really don't see the point in playing until this gets fixed. There's absolutely no point in engaging in combat with larger ships because it will probably cost you more just to repair a few % points of damage than you get from the bounty.

I haven't played in a couple of weeks so I haven't seen this problem resurface. Anyway, I haven't bothered with repairing wear & tear on traders and explorers in ages. So what if my hull is only at 70% of maximum? I can still jump to my heart's delight in a big ship and make a lot of profit or explore way out into the void. There is no reason to avoid big ships just because it costs a lot to optionally fix wear & tear. But for a fighter, I'll keep up the wear & tear repairs so that I can stay as healthy as possible when I'm out bounty hunting. And with the smaller fighters it should cost less, but as a percentage it still sounds pretty high. Just stay out of SC as much as possible for the time being. I think this must be a bug that will be fixed pretty soon.

On another point, it should cost much more to repair wear & tear over battle damage. If you take a laser hit that punches a hole through your hull, all you have to do is slap on a patch or replace a hull plate. That's pretty simple work that a monkey could do. But if the integrity of your entire hull is down 10%, you need to fix the entire hull! I could see this needing special equipment to repair your hull on the molecular level and a lot of time to do it. So, yeah, it should cost more, but not more than the insurance cost to blow up your ship and get a new one. That's just g stupid.

What? Hull damage repair (which is what you get from combat, not hull integrity repair) is as cheap as ever. Get your facts straight before commenting.

Exactly, and that's simply because the current insurance system is completely idiotic. But I'm pretty sure they'll fix it soon enough, too.

Hi Commanders,

I have just upgraded to PowerPlay 1.3 and landed my Federal Dropship (build at the end of the post).
At the station, the repair cost of the ship integrity (which was at 98% remaining) was an astonishing 200k! 200k for only 2%! (PS: I am not whining, just surprised)

I have a few questions and hope someone can give me some official answers:

- How is calculated the repair cost for hull integrity? the Dropship costs about 20m, military grade bulkhead is 18m, the total cost of my build is around 60m. How do you get 200k for 2% out of these?

- Would it mean that repairing 100% hull integrity is about 10 millions?

- What is the effect of having 50% hull integrity? Does the ship take 50% more damage? Or is the hull 50% less resistant to damage (= take 100% / twice the damage?)

- Does the hull integrity affect the resale price of the ship? If not, it might be more interesting to sell you old ship at 10% resale cost, and get a new one rather than fixing the hull integrity (depending of the hull integrity remaining and price of the ship of course)

- If it does affect the resale price of a ship, how does it affect it?

- What affects ship integrity? Supercruise? Collision? Getting some hits from thermal / kinetic weapons?

EDIT: We are talking here about hull integrity, not hull/module damage!

EDIT2: Fuel cost has increased as well. I am actually fine with that since, unlike for hull integrity repair, a workaround is to carry a fuel scoop and spend a few moment refilling the tank(s) after each jump.

My build:

I have a feeling that there will be some adjustments forthcoming. :)

Hull damage and Ship integrity don't affect each other. You can have 1% hull and 100% hull integrity. So you can go PewPew all you want. What causes Hull integrity to drop is flying around in Super Cruise.

Yep.
The CG at Wolf 406 cost me a fortune in 1.2 because of the 1000Ls star to station distance.

Wasn't the whole point of the reduction of upkeep was because there was nothing that could maintain that cost except trading?

- Fix certain repair costs

There wasn't much mentioned in the patch notes besides remarks like this. Has there been any response that this was a mistake? I know They have been increasing the profit scaling of other professions in this game, but is it enough to justify these kinds of costs on the larger ships?

i was happy i didnt have to pay for ship integriti for 5h, and now i get some hull dmg doing killer mission in my conda and ship integriti was on 98% and........... 1.5mln cr to repair, before 1.3 that was like 300-400k cr, what the hell ? Mission for 330k, hull dmg -4k and ship integriti - 1.5mln so i lost 1.2mln very not cool, this have to be some bug.

Not to gloat .. but im glad i read forums before putting forth effort.. I have a A Afitted Python. and Im conisdering a certain power once i can confirm what rewards are. but traviling to this power would be about a 105LY trip from were im at.. witch considering the related post on ship integrity .. would probally cost me about 1m or more just to move to that system. 8 jumps.. 1% every 2 jumps proablly.. thats almost a 1m.. for the trip.. and thats IF i dont get stopped, fired on, have to fight back etc etc etc...

were is a grey hound when i need them..

Im logging off tonight.. i'll play when some of these royal glichups are fixed.

Clipper is my cheapest Ship. I don`t Fly my Phyton or Conda with such a Cost Joke -.-

This is my cost for my Conda. I know the pain. ;)

Ha, yeah, and hull damage is what SHOULD be expensive. It's been weeks, maybe months, since I actually lost shields while bounty hunting. Even with the upgraded AI, I don't get hurt that much--the ships evade better, but they can't shoot to save their lives... so I kill them. Just be careful of your hull, run if it looks like your shields will drop, and you'll be fine.

Not sure about that. Would unfairly penalize ships that use "hull tanking" as a tactic. I thought we were sick of infinite shields being the combat meta.
