Ship Kits and Solo-only Play = ???

I see my ship in my fighter, in my srv, in my debug camera and I see my own weapon fire more than anyone else. Also modding a fighter weapon makes it easier to see how your fighter pilot is doing, I look for the green flash.

Btw, don't play in solo, but those are all solo reasons.

You can see your own weapon discharges, so that's pretty well settled. As to the Kits, there are plenty of opportunities to ogle your own ship. In the end, offering some extra income to FD has a play in this as well. All of this covers paint jobs and decals too.

This and the screenshot part explains everything there is to know about it. (If you want laser fire on your screenshot you can also press the fire button and activate the debug camera. The ship keeps firing).

Personally I would rather throw money at Frontier for short scripted story campaigns given the price tag they charge for the ship kits (at minimum).

There's not much point in using them in Open or Group either, since nobody really gets a long lingering look at the details of other people's ships anyway. I just like knowing that my ship looks like a Ford Fiesta circa 1989

After I developed space madness somewhere in the vicinity of Sag A my inner voice told me one day, during one of our many conversations, he'd like to see the ship painted a different colour. Of course I didn't want to upset him in case he actually took control.....

And coloured laser beams, and skins, and decals... If you're a solo-only player, why bother? Just asking.

Same reason for any cosmetic stuff that has no functionality at all? 99.5% of the time, people even in multiplayer games with a lot of skins don't really look at them. It is purely vanity.

Hey all,

There's absolutely nothing wrong with paying money for the extra visuals, but for the solo-only folks what that really means is that you're OK with paying for the base game, plus an extra XX% for a different colour scheme that only you will see (in-game).

Personally, I'd buy country flags and vibrant colours because I know others will see them. That's the entire human experience right there with fashion; we wear fashionable clothing for others to ogle, otherwise we'd just wear brown.

I have fancy blue lasers on my SLF's as they can be darn hard to spot, so when I'm engaging somebody I can tell where they are from the fancy blue laser fire :)
I also play mostly in solo - but often play in a PG and occasionally dip a tentative toe into open as well.

:)

Cause I think my Python's ship kit is cool.

And I want to take selfies and show people in the office what a cool ship I drive when I'm not working for the man.

And well, cause I want to... (can't give a if anyone else sees me riding around in my beauty)

Lol. Never even occured to me that other players would get close enough to see the kits, skins or decals. And I figured they would be too busy to notice coloured lasers.

I tend to play the game wearing only y-fronts, so it's good for at least one of us (me or the ship) being dressed in something decent.

Depending on the Ship, in VR you can see the Ship Kits, Decals, and Liveries from the Cockpit too.

Not sure why you would ask about weapons colours

Screenies are out-of-game-experience and immersion breaking. Sorry.

Uh, and purchasing stuff on a webpage to apply in game is not? :p gather you are joking but yeah 'immersion' has been so misused of late it is just plain sad, it has lost all meaning.
